Shirene is an agricultural world with an ideal environment for producing food from plants, animals, or other forms. The system has a population in the hundreds of thousands of sophonts. This world is designated an Amber Zone with an environment, laws, customs, life forms, or other conditions make it dangerous to visitors. It is a member of Third Imperium in the Lunion Subsector of Spinward Marches Sector and in the Domain of Deneb. Shirene, as a member world of the Third Imperium, holds the estates of an Imperial knight and a baronet, and the fiefdom of a baron. All three are members of the Imperial Nobility charged with overseeing the world. This world contains an Imperial Scout Base, capable of handling Scout Service starships and personnel.

Astrography & Planetology[edit]

Shirene is a member of the Spinward Main. The bright supergiant star Deneb is visible in sky even during the daytime.

Shirene is a chilly agricultural planet.

History & Background (Dossier)[edit]

Shirene is wholly owned by the Al Morai merchant line. The world was originally discovered, claimed, and developed by the Exploration Division of Al Morai to supplement its cargo carriers, and Al Morai continues to use Shirene as a base of operations and a source of merchant goods. Large tracts of undeveloped land are reserved for outdoor recreation for the ship crews.[2]

Shirene is classified as an Amber Zone at the request of its owners.[2]

World Government (G)[edit]

Shirene is governed by a Corporate Polity with a single corporation with a typical corporate structure as a government. A company town, or world. The typical corporate run world usually has a single purpose. Examples include mining, agriculture, or other kinds of resource extraction. But rather than a simple base of operations, there are facilities for housing workers and their families including hospitals, schools, and other infrastructure. How, or if, the children of the workers are incorporated into the workforce varies with companies. The corporation running the world may be a subsidiary of a larger interstellar corporation.

The Democratic Government in Exile of Rabwhar (DGER) is based on Shirene, and as of 1105 still claims to be the legitimate rulers of Rabwhar, though the organization has largely degenerated into a band of pirates and raiders.
