This sector has been known by different names to different groups over its existence including the following:

Phlask Sector Names

Aslan Unknown Aslan Hierate
Droyne Unknown Droyne Oytrip Yatroy

The sector name is from the Gurvin language.

Historical Note:

This sector was historically known as Alpha Crucis Sector in the early days of the Terran Confederation expansion, due to the location of the bright star Acrux (Alpha Crucis) within the sector. Somehow over the millennia (perhaps during the Long Night), the old Solomani names and records must have become corrupted, and the name of the star Alpha Crucis became associated with the sector two sectors to spinward of Phlask, perhaps due to a similarity in Solomani scientific nomenclature to the star Alpha Corvi which is located there, or to the location of the similarly named star Gamma Crucis also located there. On the other hand, there are other old Terran records that have consistently labeled the sector two to spinward as Alpha Leonis (even down to the present day) after the star Regulus, which lies in the subsector bearing the same name, adding to the mystery and confusion. Languages of Humaniti:

History & Background (Dossier)[edit]

Most of the sector is part of the Hive Federation.

Human civilization in Phlask, meanwhile, centers around five major worlds, each with tens of billions of inhabitants. Hollerith, Heathleah, Gradule, Alva, and Ordred dominate the independent space of coreward Phlask. Dating from the latter years of the Rule of Man, boosted by those fleeing the economic decay of the early Long Night, they form a distinct and prosperous cultural region beholden to no major power.
