The star Gamma Crucis (otherwise known as Rubidea or Gacrux) is the third brightest star in the Terran-sky constellation of Crux.

The Gamma Crucis star system is approximately 27.2pc from Terra, and is located in a Trailing direction from Terra at bearing 300.2o Galactic Longitude and +05.65o North Galactic Latitude.

History & Background (Dossier)[edit]

It was known to the ancient Chinese as Shí Zì Jià yī, which in Anglic translates to: The First Star of the Cross.
