The Scorpius-Centaurus Association (aka the Scorpius OB2 Association) is a star forming molecular cloud region largely to trailing/coretrailing of Charted Space. It is part of the Rho Ophiuchi Cloud Complex.

  • The majority of K'kree and Hiver Space lies within the region.


Description (Specifications)[edit]

The Scorpius-Centaurus Association (aka the Scorpius OB2 Association) is a star forming molecular cloud region largely to trailing/coretrailing of Charted Space containing the stars Antares (Upper Scorpius Subgroup), Alpha Crucis (Acrux), Mimosa (Beta Crucis) and Gamma Crucis among others, as well as the Coalsack Nebula. It is part of the Rho Ophiuchi Cloud Complex, and is composed of three sub-groups:

  1. Upper Scorpius Subgroup
  2. Upper Centaurus–Lupus Subgroup
  3. Lower Centaurus–Crux Subgroup

The Beta Pictoris Moving Group (including the Beta Pictoris star system and its mainworld, Baytapik) lies on its periphery.
