Linguistic Topography: 1105[edit]
The following languages are among the most commonly used within this astrographic region:
- Anglic: One of the two official languages of the Third Imperium, an official language of the Solomani Confederation, and common to many independent human worlds.
- Gurvin: The common language of the Hive Federation and a secondary language in many of its client states.
- Hiver Sign Language: The silent, visual language used naturally by Hivers.
- Ithkluri: The common language of the Ithklur, and used in conjunction with Gurvin throughout the Hive Federation and adjacent space.
History & Background (Dossier)[edit]
Drakken is currently part of the "Hive Young Worlds". The term was originally applied to a region further coreward, but as worlds closer to the centre of the Hive Federation matured they ceased to be considered 'young'. Thus the 'young worlds' region has been moving slowly rimward since the early 400s, around the time the capital of the Federation was moved to Glea. The Young Worlds region contains a mix of developed and backwater systems, where occasional flurries of activity see the border pushed rimward slightly. The cultures here are being "parented" by the Hivers, shaped into contributing members of the Federation.
Federal regions within Drakken Sector include the Onkken Finger, Phleeo Reserve, Syia Protected Reserve, and Wroae Diaspora.

The Drakken sector has 414 worlds with an estimated combined population of 925 billion, a per capita income of Cr5,733, and a total economy of BCr5,303,692. These worlds originate an interstellar trade of BCr16,237 through 332 starports (71 Class A, 116 Class B, 105 Class C, 40 Class D) employing 2,915,325 people. Driving this interstellar trade are 55 Agricultural (Ag) worlds, 37 Non-Agricultural (Na) worlds, 38 Pre-Agricultural (Pa) worlds, 35 Pre-Industrial (Pi) worlds, 25 Rich (Ri) worlds, and 26 Industrial (In) worlds. The governments in Drakken maintain 89 Military bases, 77 Naval bases, nine Scout bases, and one Embassy. The average technology level is 8 (with most between 5 and 11). The highest technology level is 15 at Ldoyck (Drakken 1002), Ixocor (Drakken 1603), Koodalal (Drakken 3014), and Endopoko (Drakken 0932).
The Drakken sector contains 599 stars and 4,674 identified planets; 241 monostellar systems, 161 binary systems, 12 trinary systems, and no systems with four or more stars. 346 of the 414 systems (83%) have native gas giants.
