Aqku

A Minor Race native to Aqkuno Drakken Sector (Drakken 1312). They are associated with the Hive Federation

The Aqku are one of many small populations of non-aqueous fluid dwellers on worlds in Hive Federation space. The exact relationship between these various populations is unclear to Imperial or Solomani observers. The races in question appear to be scattered across a wider area corresponding loosely to the spinward Hive Federation, particularly the Young Worlds. None of the populations are large, at least not to the degree that would be expected from a racial homeworld. While the exact environmental conditions differ from world to world, all of these pockets of sophont life inhabit fluidic environments hostile to Human (or Hiver) life.

There is some speculation that these are colonies of a single adaptive species, perhaps remnant outposts of a starfaring civilization long defunct. How much the Hivers know is uncertain, and some Humans have drawn comparisons to the history of the Droyne in Human space -- disparate populations that for a long time weren't recognised as having common origin.
