- This world has yet to take off economically or otherwise and the population remains low for reasons largely unknown.
- It is a Non-Aligned world dominated by human sophonts located in the Fortuna Subsector of Neworld Sector.
- It orbits the system's secondary star.
- This world is a "Twilight Zone World", a planet that is tidally-locked to its star. It has a hot side that permanently faces the star, a cold side that permanently faces away, and a narrow twilight zone in-between.
- It is a member of the Zera Cluster.

The two stars of the Oboe 4 system have an average separation of 35 AU and orbit a barycenter that lies between them.
- They have an orbital period around one another of 206 standard years.

The worlds of the system have been surveyed. They consist of:
- The mainworld, orbiting the secondary star.
- x11 secondary rocky worlds. Six orbit the primary star, six orbit the secondary star.
- x2 gas giants. One orbits the primary star, one orbits the secondary star.
Mainworld Data[edit]
Oboe 4 is tidally locked to the system's secondary star.
- The star is always high in the sky on the bright face, it hangs on horizon in the twilight zone, while the cold dark face is in permanent darkness.
- The world experiences libration - a regular wobble - as it orbits, causing the star to move in the sky.
It orbits within the habitable zone.
- It receives moderate levels of stellar energy.
Mainworld Size (S)[edit]
Oboe 4 is a Meso World between 5,600km and 7,200km in diameter. The world has low gravity between 0.32G and 0.46G. The horizon will appear about 3.6km away.
Mainworld Atmosphere (A)[edit]
Oboe 4 has a pressure of less than 0.1 atmospheres which requires the use of a Vacc Suit. TL–8 or more advanced survival gear is required to settle this world.
- It experiences relatively low temperatures within the twilight zone.
Mainworld Hydrosphere (H)[edit]
Oboe 4 has no free-standing water or ice on the surface. Wilderness refueling isn't possible on this world. Water for the inhabitants needs to be imported and extensively recycled. These worlds are classified Desert World or a Hell World depending on their atmosphere.

History & Background (Dossier)[edit]
Oboe 4 is a member of the Zera Cluster, a small cluster and minor trade route lying within the coreward-trailing quadrant of Neworld Sector.
The system's primary star experiences periodic bouts of flare activity, which causes interference, strange tones and noises, and heavy static on commo and sensors.
- During major outbursts of flare activity radiation levels within its system are dangerously high.
- Exposure to elevated radiation levels causes serious health issues and may damage unshielded electronic devices.
Although it lies within the territory of the Confederation, the world is not officially a member of that state, choosing instead to remain as a technically neutral world. Despite its neutral status, it relies on the Confederation for trade and defense and actively cooperates with Solomani interests.
Solomani Security keeps a close eye on things to ensure the security of the Confederation and the well-being of its loyal citizens. Almost anyone could be a SolSec informant, passing on all sorts of useful information: some gain a reward or benefit for their actions, others are coerced, but many see it as an act of duty to help protect the Solomani state and its interests.
World Starport (St)[edit]
Oboe 4 has a Class A Starport, an excellent quality installation which includes all the expected amenities including refined fuel for starships, brokerage services for passengers and cargo, and a variety of ship provisions. There is a shipyard capable of doing annual maintenance, overhauls and other kinds of repair, and construction of both starships and non-starships. Most ports of this classification have both a Highport and a Downport.
World Population (P)[edit]
Oboe 4 has a population of 6,000 sophonts (thousands).
- This is a Low Population World and the population would be too low to sustain itself without a little outside assistance. This may represent the home base of a sizable but mostly transient population such as the base of a major starship expedition, the last generation of a dying colony, the first generation of a new colony, or a large outpost that will probably evolve into a colony if not stopped.
- The population almost entirely consists of Solomani humans.

There may be few or no law enforcement officers, the expectation is citizens will bring law breakers to the attention of the Judicial system. Legal proceedings will be fast, with few people involved. For interactions outside of the framework of the laws, cultural norms dominate. Machine guns, other automatic weapons, portable energy weapons, and other military weapons, body pistols, explosives, and poison gas are typically regulated or prohibited.
