• It is a member of the Solomani Confederation in the Kursa Subsector of Aldebaran Sector.

• This world is a "Twilight Zone World", a planet that is tidally-locked to its star. It has a hot side that permanently faces the star, a cold side that permanently faces away, and a narrow twilight zone in-between.
• This world has a Naval Base, usually associated with military starships.

Acton has 05-15% of its surface covered by liquid water or ice. Wilderness refueling will be difficult. Water for the inhabitants needs to be imported and extensively recycled. These worlds are Hell Worlds or Poor Worlds depending on their atmosphere.

Solomani Security keeps a close eye on things to ensure the security of the Solomani State and the well-being of its loyal citizens. Almost anyone could be a SolSec informant, passing on all sorts of useful information: some gain a reward or benefit for their actions, others are coerced, while many see it as an act of duty to help protect the the State and its interests.

World Starport (St)

Acton has a Class A Starport, an excellent quality installation which includes all the expected amenities including refined fuel for starships, brokerage services for passengers and cargo, and a variety of ship provisions. There is a shipyard capable of doing annual maintenance, overhauls and other kinds of repair, and construction of both starships and non-starships. Most ports of this classification have both a Highport and a Downport.

• This world is host to a Confederation Naval Base.
• This world is host to a major Military Base.
  • The military base is controlled by the Solomani Home Guard.
• The starport is entirely located in an orbital facility. The majority of the workforce located in the facility are robotic in nature with cargo handling, services and general day to day workloads carried out by robots.
• The Acton system is used as a "mothballing" and training centre for the Solomani military. The planetary surface and other locations across the system are used for the storage and mothballing of Solomani military starships.
• The starport is maintained as a Type A standard and many vessels do pass through the facility on a regular basis. The vast majority of these are military although freighters do occasionally stop here to refuel.

Acton has population of 100 sophonts (hundreds).

• This is a Low Population World and the population would be too low to sustain itself without moderate outside assistance. This may represent a large transient population such as the crew of a fleet of starships, the dwindling remnants of a dying colony, a construction team building a new colony, or an outpost that could evolve into a colony.
• The population almost entirely consists of Solomani humans.
• The population are all military personnel and actually do not live planetside. The population all live at the orbital starport facility.

• Rim Anglic, a dialect of Anglic and the principal language of the Confederation.

There may be smaller councils or regional bodies to draft the policies voted upon. Leadership of the government and all members of the bureaucracy are determined by the voting population.

Acton has a moderate level with laws covering many areas of government and interaction. These laws are simple enough that most people can act as their own advocate, though for serious issues a professional is recommended. Law enforcement officials will be present, but not in great numbers. All firearms except shotguns, and anything more destructive, are typically regulated or prohibited.
