Forquee Subsector is subsector G of Massilia Sector.
- It is an Imperial core region that has been settled for millennia.
- The subsector has significant populations of Geonee.
Description (Specifications)[edit]
The following astrographic and commercial data has been determined regarding Forquee Subsector:
Astrographic Features[edit]
The subsector is a generally unremarkable area lying within the Imperial Core.
- It is an average stellar density region.
- The brightest star is the white main sequence primary of the Epmeyer system.
Stellar Distribution[edit]
A basic map showing the distribution and size of stars within Forquee Subsector.
- The color corresponds to the visible color of the star, which links to its spectral classification.
- The size as shown indicates both the physical size of the object and its relative brightness.
Note that the stars as depicted are representative. Any star, no matter what its size, is a mere speck within the hex it occupies.
- Ordinary main sequence stars can barely be seen from even a hex away.
- Huge, intensely luminous giant stars can be seen from across the subsector and far beyond.
Trade Routes[edit]
A number of important trade routes lie within the region. High cargo capacity, low jump rating vessels moving along them, carrying vast amounts of goods and commodities between their member worlds.
The Forquee Cluster[edit]
Most of the worlds of the subsector are part of the namesake Forquee Cluster, chiefly occupying the rimward part of the region. The cluster has 30 member systems.
A basic chart of the Cluster is shown, right:
- Worlds lying within the cluster are highlighted in tan.
The Delphi Main[edit]
Two worlds, on the trailing edge of the subsector, lie on the Delphi Main. The main has 95 member worlds and runs between Massilia and Delphi Sectors.
A basic chart of the Main is shown, right:
- Worlds lying on the Main are highlighted in green.
The Barden Cluster[edit]
A single world on the rimward edge of the subsector is a member of the Barden Cluster. The cluster has 11 member worlds and lies in the center of the sector.
A basic chart of the Cluster is shown, right:
- Worlds lying within the cluster are highlighted in tan.
World Listing[edit]
Comprehensive Second Survey data for all worlds lying within Forquee Subsector is available.
- The primary source material for all data is Traveller Map.
- Other sources may differ: some elements of the data may be contradictory or incorrect.
- Data is occasionally updated as new information becomes available.
AAB library archives contain expanded data about the following systems:
Note that some Second Survey data, though only 40 years old, may already be out of date.
- Scouting missions gathering reliable, verified data can receive substantial payment.
History & Background (Dossier)[edit]
A number of gas giants within the region are home to settlements of a relatively young clade of Jgd-il-Jagd. The clade was founded within the Liaw system in 690 and now encompasses systems within four parsecs. The Imperium considers the Jgd a friendly associate species with an autonomous government, mostly because establishing relations outside of simple trade is all but impossible.
Polity Listing[edit]
The following polities can be found within this subsector:
Other Powers[edit]
- Ziru Sirka (historical)
- Rule of Man (historical)
Military Forces[edit]
The Forquee Subsector is defended by 64th Fleet.
Native Sophonts[edit]
No sophont species are believed to have originated in this subsector:
Demographics[edit]
Significant populations of the following races (sophont species) reside within this area:
- Humaniti (Human races)
- Geonee (Minor Human Race): Significant numbers dwell within the region.
- Mixed heritage (Major Race): Widely spread across the region.
- Solomani (Major Race): Many genetically distinct individuals and communities.
- Vilani (Major Race): Many genetically distinct individuals and communities.
- Non-Human Races
- Chirpers: Where there are (married) Geonee, there are Chirpers.
- Jgd-ll-jagd: A young clade centered on the gas giant worlds of the Liaw system.
Linguistic Topography[edit]
The following languages are among the most commonly used within this astrographic region:
- Anglic: One of the two official languages of the Third Imperium.
- Irkonee: The predominate language of the Geonee.
- Oynprith, a ceremonial and ritualistic language apparently universal among Chirper communities.
- Vilani: One of the two official languages of the Third Imperium.
Subsector Timeline[edit]
Major events that have affected this subsector and the wider region that it lies within:
- circa -250,000: the Ancients are active within the sector.
- circa -9,000: the Geonee encounter the Vilani.
- -5400 to -4015: the Vilani Consolidation Wars.
- -4045 to -2204: the region is part of the Ziru Sirka.
- -2204 to -1776: the region becomes part of the Rule of Man.
- -1776 to 0: the Long Night.
- The Year 0: the Third Imperium is founded.
- 300-420: the Imperial First Survey charts the subsector.
- 604-622: the Civil War.
- 690: a clade of Jgd-ll-jagd settle the gas giant worlds of the Liaw system.
- 624: the Express Boat Network is established.
- 995-1065: the Imperial Second Survey charts the subsector.
- 1065: the Second Survey is published. Information about the subsector becomes widely available.
Subsector Summary[edit]
Forquee, subsector G of Massilia, contains 34 worlds with an estimated combined population of 129 billion, a per capita income of Cr8,655, and a total economy of BCr1,116,555. These worlds originate an interstellar trade of BCr2,713 through 32 starports (3 Class A, 19 Class B, 10 Class C, 0 Class D) employing 456,385 people. Driving this interstellar trade are two Agricultural (Ag) worlds, five Non-Agricultural (Na) worlds, three Pre-Agricultural (Pa) worlds, seven Pre-Industrial (Pi) worlds, one Rich (Ri) world, and no Industrial (In) worlds. The governments in Forquee maintain three Naval bases and two Scout bases. The average technology level is 11 (with most between 9 and 13). The highest technology level is 14 at Wander (Massilia 1713), Forquee (Massilia 1719), Niswander (Massilia 2013), Olden (Massilia 2116), Pinter (Massilia 2118), and Udipeni (Massilia 2316).
Forquee, subsector G of Massilia, contains 52 stars and 342 identified planets; 17 monostellar systems, 16 binary systems, one trinary system, and no systems with four or more stars. 31 of the 34 systems (91%) have native gas giants. There are no Asteroid (As) belts, no Desert (De) worlds, four Garden (Ga) worlds, no Ice-capped (Ic) worlds, five Poor (Po) worlds, six Vacuum (Va) worlds, and one Water (Wa) or Ocean (Oc) world.
Forquee has an estimated population of 129 billion distributed across five High population (Hi) worlds, four Moderate population (Ph) worlds, 12 Non-industrial (Ni) worlds, nine Low population (Lo) worlds, and no Barren (Ba) worlds. The highest population worlds are Forquee (Massilia 1719), Arlur (Massilia 1814), and Udipeni (Massilia 2316). The population consists primarily of 3 sophont groups.
