System Data[edit]
The worlds of the system have been surveyed. They consist of:
- The mainworld.
- x2 secondary rocky worlds.
- x2 planetoid belts.
- x3 gas giants.
Mainworld Data[edit]
Mainworld Size (S)[edit]
Hasaggan is a Meso World between 10,400km and 12,000km in diameter. The world has a standard gravity between 0.7G and 0.9G. The horizon will appear about 4.7km away.
Mainworld Atmosphere (A)[edit]
Hasaggan has a pressure of 0.10 to 0.42 atmospheres. The very thin pressures require a respirator or Oxygen Mask. TL–5 or more advanced survival gear is required to settle this world.
Mainworld Hydrosphere (H)[edit]
Hasaggan has 45-55% of its surface covered by liquid water. Wilderness refueling is possible.
Mainworld Geography and Topography[edit]
(Blank map, predominantly dry world.)
History & Background (Dossier)[edit]
During the Long Night, Hasaggan maintained much of its conservative Vilani cultural outlook, which remained prevalent through the centuries of the Third Imperium. During the latter era, Hasaggan is divided into two rival (yet peaceful) states: Sedussan and Hassadorn. Sedussan, the location of Hyunas Down starport, has a very low law level, and is essentially a single-ruler feudal technocracy. Hassadorn is much more restrictive, with a high law level and an impersonal bureaucracy overseen by seven different councils.
Offworlders travelling to Hasaggan receive a cordial, but somewhat cool, reception. The most notable local custom is the polygamy practice of high-ranking government officials. Only males hold the highest positions, and such men are expected to take at least two wives. Each term, they are required to divorce one and replace her.
Those travelling in the more restrictive nation of Hassadorn should also note that the law requires alien races not to live together in the same dwelling. Official violators will be arrested and detained until a formal hearing, which could be many weeks later.
World Starport (St)[edit]
Hasaggan has a Class B Starport, a good quality installation which includes all the expected amenities including refined fuel for starships, brokerage services for passengers and cargo, and a variety of ship provisions. There is a shipyard capable of doing annual maintenance, overhauls and most kinds of repair, and construction of non-starships. Most ports of this classification have both a Highport and a Downport.
Over fifty orbital complexes and stations revolve around Hasaggan. Two of the largest – Hyunas Orbital and Gass-Em Orbital – boast populations of over 20 million.
World Population (P)[edit]
Hasaggan has a population of 9,000,000,000 sophonts (billions).
- High Population Worlds like this tend to have huge consumer markets.
Linguistic Topography[edit]
The most commonly heard languages are:
- Anglic, one of the two official languages of the Imperium.
- Vilani, one of the two official languages of the Imperium.
World Technology Level (T)[edit]
Hasaggan possesses a Technology Level of TL–13 or TL-D in Hexadecimal Notation.
- Common Communication technologies for this TL include: Holovideo recorders.
- Common Power Generation technologies for this TL include: Miniature super-batteries, prototype collectors, advanced fusion plants.
- Common Transportation technologies for this TL include:
- Land, Water & Air: Personal G-Tubes and advanced gravcraft.
- Space: Advanced interplanetary spacecraft (System Craft).
- FTL: Jump Drive-4.
World Government (G)[edit]
Hasaggan has a Balkanized Government. There is no central world government. The world has several governments competing for control of the world. These may be allies, cooperating, competitors, or at war with each other.
World Law (L)[edit]
Hasaggan has a high law level with laws covering many areas of interactions of people, corporations, and the government. A few worlds with this law level may be Amber Zones. Any interaction with the judicial system requires an Advocate trained in the local legal system. Law enforcement is present almost everywhere, either as people or via technology. Legal proceedings can take weeks to months to resolve and involve a dozen or more people. All blade weapons and firearms, and anything more destructive, are typically regulated or prohibited.
Imperial Landed Nobility[edit]
Hasaggan, as a member world of the Third Imperium, holds the estates of two members of the Imperial Nobility, who are charged with overseeing the world.
