Enrique is a high-population, non-agricultural and industrial vacuum world, with a billion or more sophonts in population size, warranting hazardous environment precautions.

Description (Astrography & Planetology)[edit]

Stellar Data[edit]

Enrique is a binary star system.

  • The primary is a white main sequence.
  • The secondary is a red main sequence.
Enrique has two stars in the star system.

System Data[edit]

The worlds of the system have been surveyed. They consist of:

Large-scale colonization of other worlds and bodies within the system has occurred: there is extensive in-system transport and trade.

Mainworld Data[edit]

Mainworld Size (S)[edit]

Enrique is a Small World between 2,400km and 4,000km in diameter. The world has low gravity between 0.1G and 0.17G. The horizon will appear about 2.5km away.

Mainworld Atmosphere (A)[edit]

Enrique has a pressure of less than 0.001 atmospheres which requires the use of a Vacc Suit. TL–8 or more advanced survival gear is required to settle this world.

Mainworld Hydrosphere (H)[edit]

Enrique has no free-standing water or ice on the surface. Wilderness refueling isn't possible on this world. Water for the inhabitants needs to be imported and extensively recycled. These worlds are classified Desert World or a Hell World depending on their atmosphere.

Mainworld Geography and Topography[edit]

No centrally held map of the world exists within AAB Library Data records.

History & Background (Dossier)[edit]

Comp-Prog-Dav-R-Deitrick-Starter-Trav-Page-16 16-July-2018a.jpg

Enrique is a member of the Outer Loop region of the Greater Massilia Main, a major Main and important trade route lying across parts of Massilia Sector and Zarushagar Sector.

Enrique is the Rebin culture's industrial center.

The Rebin Empire[edit]

During the Long Night this world fell within the Rebin Empire's sphere of influence. It benefitted from trade agreements and defense policies imposed by the Empire, but it struggled with the Empire's unilateral decision-making, interference in its internal affairs, occasional military interventions, and most significantly its views on gender roles. The Empire gradually disintegrated in the centuries before the founding of the Third Imperium, with interstellar trade slowly dying off and some of the worlds it had overseen becoming depopulated.

  • It was considered a Provincial World by the Empire and was afforded fewer rights and protections.
  • The worlds that the Empire controlled or interacted with have a distinct Rebin cultural flavor to the present day.
  • Despite its many shortcomings, the Rebin Empire was overall considered a force for good and most worlds are proud of their association with it.

World Starport (St)[edit]

Enrique has a Class B Starport, a good quality installation which includes all the expected amenities including refined fuel for starships, brokerage services for passengers and cargo, and a variety of ship provisions. There is a shipyard capable of doing annual maintenance, overhauls and most kinds of repair, and construction of non-starships. Most ports of this classification have both a Highport and a Downport.

Point of Interest: Rockport Starport[edit]

The mainworld's starport is called Rockport. It is an extensive ground facility linked to an orbital repeater array and managed by a vast traffic control system that uses a combination of broadcast radio telemetry and tight beam maser comm lines to guide vessels to and from jump points, in addition to providing support for vessels visiting other destinations in-system. Once landed, all crews are subject to local Rebin laws and males are expected to behave within Rebin norms.

World Population (P)[edit]

Enrique has a population of 9,000,000,000 sophonts (billions).

Urbanization[edit]

Enrique somehow manages to cram in 9 billion inhabitants into vast underground cities and factory complexes tunneled deep into the bedrock, which vent waste gasses and pollutants directly into vacuum through high factory chimneys standing proud of the bedrock.

Points of Interest: Orbital Cities[edit]

Enrique is notable for the many orbital cities and large space stations scattered throughout the system. They have been constructed above the mainworld as well as the various secondary worlds, gas giants, and major moons. Many have very sizable populations, with the largest being home to multiple millions of inhabitants. These incredible structures fully qualify as engineering marvels and Megastructures.

  • The many habitats use a variety of deep-space construction technologies ranging from TL–9 to TL–14.

Linguistic Topography[edit]

The most commonly heard languages are:

Locals speak with a distinctive Rebin accent.

World Technology Level (T)[edit]

Enrique possesses a Technology Level of TL–14 or TL-E in Hexadecimal Notation.

  • Common Communication technologies for this TL include: Early meson communicators.
  • Common Power Generation technologies for this TL include: Miniature super-batteries, early collectors, and advanced fusion plants.
  • Common Transportation technologies for this TL include:

World Government (G)[edit]

Enrique has a Captive Government or Colony. The world is ruled by an external government, there is no self-rule. This is a colony or conquered area. The local government is an oligarchy appointed by, and answerable only to, the external government.

This world is directly controlled by the authorities on Enid.

  • Administration is conducted by a female-staffed civil service bureaucracy.

During the Long Night Enrique had a matriarchal government, with all offices of state and positions of authority controlled by females.

World Law (L)[edit]

Enrique has a moderate law level with laws covering many areas of government and interaction. These laws are simple enough that most people can act as their own advocate, though for serious issues a professional is recommended. Law enforcement officials will be present, but not in great numbers. All firearms, and anything more destructive, are typically regulated or prohibited.

  • Males are forbidden weapons completely whilst females are only allowed to carry small blades, though not openly.

The world has many laws regarding gender status and gender roles, which generally subjugate males.

  • These laws are an anachronism from the Rebin Empire.
  • There is an active equal rights movement.

Imperial Landed Nobility[edit]

Enrique, as a member world of the Third Imperium, holds the estate of an Imperial Landed Knight who acts as an Imperial representative to the world, and the fiefdoms of two members of the Imperial Landed Nobility, who oversee affairs regarding the world at an Interstellar and Imperial level.

Trade Data[edit]

  • Importance: 4 (important)

World Economy[edit]

  • Resources: F (extremely abundant)
  • Labor: 8 (hundreds of millions)
  • Infrastructure: G (very comprehensive)
  • Efficiency: +4 (advanced)

World Culture[edit]

The world retains a strongly matriarchal culture. As well as inequality in pay and recompense, males often find that opportunities and roles open to females are not available to them. Males may find it hard to get service or representation without a female escort to speak on their behalf. Visiting males are expected to adhere to the world's social norms and face the same penalties as locals if they break them.

  • Heterogenity: 9 (discordant)
  • Acceptance: D (very xenophilic)
  • Strangeness: 5 (distinct)
  • Symbols: E (extremely abstract)

World Timeline[edit]

Other Historical Eras[edit]

Milieu 0[edit]

A report on the world's defensive capabilities, circa The Year 0:

System defenses and anti-piracy patrols are frequent and heavy, utilizing the very best of TL–10 and TL–11 system defense craft built as basic hulls at the Primus Shipyard in the Kaaar Gemaar system before being transported to Enrique where essential components are installed locally. There are long term plans to upgrade Rockport to the equivalent of an Imperial Class B facility.
