The Divide Sector is considered to be a part of the Distant Fringe.
- It forms a part of the Empty Stars.
- It is part of Uncharted Space.
Meta-History & Background: 2019-0708[edit]
Far Home Sector was designed by Ade Stewart between 2016 to 2017 CE.
- It appears on Traveller Map.
- It does not yet appear in published products.
- It has NOT been T5 Second Survey reviewed and NOT updated to T5 standards.
Description (Specifications)[edit]
A sector lying to spinward of Halcyon Sector and characterised by the Moat Rifts. It contains 100 systems and has a listed population of approximately 5.583 million sophonts. Two subsectors (subsectors L and P) are accessible to conventional jump-2 vessels travelling from the Distant Fringe.
Divide sector contains the most technologically advanced system in the Fringe region, at Resulos (2729 Divide). It is overseen by the High Energy Research Department of the University of Selasia.
Humans have dwelt within Divide Sector for almost three millennia.

History & Background (Dossier)[edit]
No information yet available.
Native Sophonts (NILs):[edit]
No native sophont species are known to exist within Divide Sector. There are very probably unknown NILs among its many unnamed and unexplored systems.
Demographics[edit]
Significant populations of the following races (sophont species) are found within Divide Sector:
- Humaniti (Human races)
- Solomani (Major Race): 5.508 million (98.65% of the population), largely descended from human settlers originating from the Bright Conclave. They refer to themselves as Terrans.
Historical Eras[edit]
- Pre-Humaniti Era: unaffected.
- Founding Era: the Redoubt Program is established.
- Dark Age: Voyagers are active within the Hylan Spur.
- Expansion Era: Bright Expansion claims the region.
- Early Modern Era: the Bright Conclave begins to develop the area.
- Post-War Era: the facilities at Observatory are constructed.
- Present Day: the area continues to develop and advance.
History: General Overview[edit]
Although its exact route is unknown, the Dissident Fleet almost certainly travelled across the coreward part of Divide Sector some time after 2255AD as it fled the Destruction of Terra and the pursuing Vilani.
Divide Sector has been settled for over two millennia, though its listed population only numbers in the millions. It remained unsettled until the Third Confederation, when the Hylan Spur was selected as the final bastion of Terran humanity by the Redoubt Program.
The sector lost the majority of its population during the Dark Age (only Nevik survived) and was unaffected by the events of Scavenger Season and the Golden Age. The rimward-trailing quadrant of the sector was claimed by Bright Expansion, later coming under the control of the University of Selasia. Despite its remote location it contains the single most advanced world within the Distant Fringe.
Timeline of Major Historical Events[edit]
- 2255AD: Divide Sector is officially named. It had previously been charted by long-range scans performed by vessels the Last Armada.
- 3440AD: Third Confederation and Successor States. Restrictions on interstellar travel are no longer in place.
- 3515AD: The Lavish Prosperity, an independent scout, completes a survey of the systems within Divide Sector.
- ca 3550AD: Outposts are begun on Resulos, Margot, Hylan and Ret Eslan, part of the Redoubt Program.
- 3680AD: Settlements are founded on Nevik.
- 3730AD: The Voyagers arrive and the Dark Age begins. The settlements on Nevik, the only human world in Divide Sector to survive the Dark Age, regress to pre-industrial levels of technology.
- 4570AD: The Voyagers depart. The Renaissance begins.
- 4913AD: Bright Expansion claims administative jurisdiction over those systems within Divide Sector that can be reached by conventional jump-2 vessels. The area remains a backwater while Bright Expansion's attention is focused to trailing.
- 4998AD–5000AD: Bright Expansion loses the Associations War. It switches its focus to the worlds of the Alasim Cluster, the Bright Peninsula and the Hylan Spur.
- 5106AD The Bright Conclave is founded. Administrative responsibility for Divide Sector is handed to the University of Selasia.
- 5198AD The University of Selasia founds the Augustus Bright Deep Space Observation Array at Observatory.
- 5216AD The University of Selasia establishes the High Energy Research Facility on Resulos.
- 5400AD: Scybrian Wars.
- 5580AD Resulos achieves TL13.

Interstellar Relations[edit]
Divide Sector is largely unexplored: only a part of the rimward-trailing quadrant of the sector is inhabited. Although the area is nominally Non-aligned, it is dominated by the Bright Conclave, which controls all access to it.
Polities of Divide Sector[edit]
Divide Sector contains no independent polities. Those areas that have been explored and settled fall generally under the aegis of the Bright Conclave and the University of Selasia.
