Astrography and Planetology[edit]
This star system is detailed using the Fringian Variant System Description.
- It forms a part of the Glitterdrift Reach.
System Data[edit]
Jumidis System[edit]
The primary is an unnamed ordinary yellow main sequence star. It has a luminosity of 0.47 Sols, a mass of 0.848 Sols, and a diameter of 1.264 million km. The inner system consists of (I) a vacuum inner world, and (II) a vacuum worldlet. (III) Jumidis orbits within the habitable zone and is designated the mainworld. (IV) a very thin atmosphere hospitable world, (V) a trace atmosphere iceworld, (VI-I) a small gas giant, (VI-II) a sparse rocky planetoid belt, (VII) a ringed large gas giant, and (VIII) an exotic atmosphere bigworld form the outer system. Many of the worlds retain satellites.
Mainworld Data[edit]
(III) Jumidis[edit]
(III) Jumidis is designated the mainworld. It orbits the primary at a mean distance of 0.73 AU (109.2 million km), within the habitable zone. It has an orbital period of 247 days 9 hours and a rotation period of 30 hours. The axial tilt is 7 degrees. Jumidis has a diameter of 7,815 km, a density of 4.82 g/cm³, and a surface gravity of 0.54 G. The world is geologically active. Its atmosphere is rated as Standard, Tainted, with a mean surface pressure of 0.94 bar and a composition of 70% nitrogen (N2), 29% oxygen (O2), and 1% argon (Ar), water vapor (H2O), carbon dioxide (CO2), neon (Ne) and other trace gases. The taint is caused by the high percentage of atmospheric oxygen and by allergenic spores and pollens of organic origin. Approximately 60% of the surface is covered in oceans of liquid water: average tidal ranges exceed 0.2m. Mean surface temperature: 13°C. The atmosphere is active and moderate weather systems driven by the star and the oceans drive across the globe. The climate is static.
Mainworld Geography and Topography[edit]
Total surface area: 192 million km², Water surface area: 115 million km², Land surface area: 77 million km².
Native Lifeforms[edit]
Flugo, the mainworld, has extensive, abundant native life, with complex organisms inhabiting every ecological niche. Their metabolic functions drive the process of atmospheric renewal.
The cold marginally hospitable world lying in orbital position (IV) has primitive native life, consisting entirely of microscopic cyanobacteria-parallels that exist in any location where they can find even a minimal trace of shelter and warmth. Their metabolic functions maintain the process of atmospheric renewal.
History & Background (Dossier)[edit]
The Jumidis system has been studied by the Local Astrographical Survey Project, a part of the Astronomy Department of the University of Selasia.
