Victori is a nonindustrial fluid world.

  • A fluid world has an oceanic geography consisting of heavily contaminated water or a substance such as ammonia, methane, hydrocarbons, or other exotic liquid.
  • It requires extensive imports of outside technology to maintain a modern, star-faring society. Having to import most manufactured and high tech goods drives the price up for these items at this world.
  • It is a member of the Solomani Confederation in the Carcosa Subsector of Aldebaran Sector.

Description (Astrography & Planetology)[edit]

Stellar Data[edit]

Victori is a binary star system.

  • Both are red main sequence stars.
Victori has two stars in the star system.

System Data[edit]

The worlds of the system have been surveyed. They consist of:

Mainworld Data[edit]

Victori orbits at 10 AU, deep in the outer system.

Chart Orbit Outer Region.png

Mainworld Size (S)[edit]

Victori is a Big World between 13,600km and 15,200km in diameter. The world has a standard gravity between 1G and 1.3G. The horizon will appear about 5.4km away. Vessels with only 1G of thrust should avoid landing on this world.

Mainworld Atmosphere (A)[edit]

Victori has an Exotic Atmosphere and possesses an unusual gas mix which requires the use of oxygen tanks. Additionally, protective suits, while not necessary, are recommended. TL–8 or more advanced survival gear is required to settle this world.

Mainworld Hydrosphere (H)[edit]

Victori has 25-35% of its surface covered by water ice heavily tainted with other substances, which makes it dangerous, corrosive, or toxic. Wilderness refueling will be difficult. Water for the inhabitants needs to be imported and extensively recycled. These worlds may be Hell Worlds.

  • The water on the surface may be unsuitable for use or consumption without extensive filtering and purification.
  • Refining for fuel may cause issues with shipboard purification plants.

Mainworld Geography and Topography[edit]

No centrally held map of the world exists within AAB Library Data records.

Victori is a frigidly cold world with a dense exotic atmosphere of nitrogen-methane that orbits far beyond the system's habitable zone. It has large permanent ice caps of water-ice, and large seas of methane, with deep reservoirs of heavier hydrocarbons.

History & Background (Dossier)[edit]

Comp-Prog-Dav-R-Deitrick-Starter-Trav-Page-16 16-July-2018a.jpg

Victori was claimed and named by Captain Jon Smið (sic) of the colony vessel Waiferar (massing over 4000 dTons and rated at Jump-4).

The world has a culture transplanted from the Grand United States of Quesada, mostly from the worlds of Colima and Martinez. Additionally, a smaller population of transplants from Orient have settled here, preferring its more permissive society.

World Starport (St)[edit]

Victori has a Class E Starport, a frontier quality installation with few expected amenities. There is unrefined fuel for starships and a limited variety of ship provisions. There is no shipyard of any kind, but there may be parts and technical support for doing minor services and repair. Ports of this classification generally consist of a downport.

Victori Downport lies on an exposed plateau of bedrock midway between the water-ice cap and the northern methane seacoast.

World Population (P)[edit]

Victori has a population of 600,000 sophonts (hundreds of thousands).

  • This is a Nonindustrial World, too small to support the complete chain of production of most goods from start to finish.
  • The population almost entirely consists of Solomani humans.

Urbanization[edit]

Victori Station is the capitol of Victori, and is 10 km from the downport landing zone. It is constructed of Orient-style advanced domes sourced from Orient, Trieumf, and local resources at TL–10.

Linguistic Topography[edit]

The most commonly heard languages are:

World Technology Level[edit]

Victori possesses a Technology Level of TL–8.

  • Common Communication technologies for this TL include: Fiber optics, improved telephones, and satellite communication and data networks.
  • Common Power Generation technologies for this TL include: Improved geothermal and improved batteries.
  • Common Transportation technologies for this TL include:
    • Land: Advanced automobiles.
    • Water: Triphibians and early artificial gills.
    • Air: Improved helicopters and hypersonic jets.
    • Space: Space shuttles, early space stations, and improved interplanetary spacecraft (System Craft).

Energy production is largely by advanced fast-spectrum Molten Salt reactor sites supplemented by solid-state modular reactors as needed. There is one fusion reactor (TL–11) purchased at great expense, and installed in a dedicated power center outside of the city proper. Overall, Victori is a power-abundant world.

World Technology Level (T)[edit]

Victori possesses a Technology Level of TL–8.

  • Common Communication technologies for this TL include: Fiber optics, improved telephones, and satellite communication and data networks.
  • Common Power Generation technologies for this TL include: Improved geothermal and improved batteries.
  • Common Transportation technologies for this TL include:

    • Water: Triphibians and early artificial gills.
    • Air: Improved helicopters and hypersonic jets.
    • Space: Space shuttles, early space stations, and improved interplanetary spacecraft (System Craft).

World Government (G)[edit]

Victori is governed by a Civil Service Bureaucracy. The leadership of the government takes another form (democracy, dictatorship, oligarchy), but the bureaucracy leadership influences policy. The government leadership may select the bureaucracy leadership, but not its membership. Usually the governmental leadership is divided, or incapable of setting policy, and the bureaucracy provides a stabilizing influence. This ruling bureaucracy may be the full government bureaucractic apparatus or a section with limited jurisdiction but considerable influence, like the military.

World Law (L)[edit]

Victori has a moderate level with laws covering many areas of government and interaction. These laws are simple enough that most people can act as their own advocate, though for serious issues a professional is recommended. Law enforcement officials will be present, but not in great numbers. Personal concealable firearms, and anything more destructive, are typically regulated or prohibited.
