Subsector E of Amdukan Sector.

Description[edit]

This subsector lies within the Julian Protectorate but is largely outside the jurisdictions of Julian substates. The Alliance of Ozuvon controls six systems along the trailing edge, and the Asimikigir Confederation controls four systems along the rimward edge. The remaining twenty-one systems are free-standing Protectorate members, at least in theory. These free-standing worlds are home to barely three billion inhabitants in total, with no one world dominating the area. Economically, the region is controlled by several high population worlds within the substates or situated outside the subsector.

Many of the worlds on the spinward side of Sakas are on the grand main that connects Imperial space to rimward with Julian and Gashikan space, the Nudashiir Lagani, or "Lishun-Gashikan Main". While this brings commerce into the region, this area is off of the primary path of the main, and sees less benefit than it might want.

Due to its position relative to several substates of the Julian Protectorate and the political structure of Julian space, Sakas Subsector lacks its own local capital.

The Nudashiir Lagani[edit]

A number of worlds in the subsector lie on the Nudashiir Lagani, the great Lishun-Gashikan Main.

  • An eclectic mix of vessels, both Human and Vargr, work their ways along the Main, carrying vast amounts of goods and commodities between its member worlds.
  • Worlds on the Main are highlighted in green.

Subsector Summary: 1116[edit]

Sakas, subsector E of Amdukan, contains 31 worlds with an estimated combined population of 21 billion, a per capita income of Cr1,068, and a total economy of BCr22,525. These worlds originate an interstellar trade of BCr960 through 23 starports (3 Class A, 8 Class B, 11 Class C, 1 Class D) employing 122,640 people. Driving this interstellar trade are four Agricultural (Ag) worlds, one Non-Agricultural (Na) world, one Pre-Agricultural (Pa) world, three Pre-Industrial (Pi) worlds, three Rich (Ri) worlds, and one Industrial (In) world. The governments in Sakas maintain nine Military bases and seven Naval bases. The average technology level is 7 (with most between 5 and 10). The highest technology level is 12 at Daghoull (Amdukan 0112) and Oekhel (Amdukan 0213).

Sakas, subsector E of Amdukan, contains 43 stars and 355 identified planets; 19 monostellar systems, 12 binary systems, no trinary systems, and no systems with four or more stars. 27 of the 31 systems (87%) have native gas giants. There are one Asteroid (As) belt, one Desert (De) world, no Garden (Ga) worlds, no Ice-capped (Ic) worlds, six Poor (Po) worlds, one Vacuum (Va) world, and five Water (Wa) or Ocean (Oc) worlds.

Sakas has an estimated population of 21 billion distributed across three High population (Hi) worlds, five Moderate population (Ph) worlds, 14 Non-industrial (Ni) worlds, eight Low population (Lo) worlds, and no Barren (Ba) worlds. The highest population worlds are Tokgu (Amdukan 0814), Erdut (Amdukan 0520), and Ananir (Amdukan 0420). The population consists primarily of 2 sophont groups.

Linguistic Topography: 1116[edit]

The following languages are among the most commonly encountered in this astrographic region:

  • Anglic: Common to many human worlds.
    • Julian Anglic: The most common variant in the sector, and an official language of the Julian Protectorate.
  • Hhraki: Also known as Hhkarn; the primary language of the Hhkar. Hhkar travel frequently and may be found wandering much of Julian and adjacent space.
