• It is a member of the Dienabach Grüpen in the Bautzen Subsector of Neworld Sector.

• It is a mainworld which is a satellite of either a gas giant or another world.

Gurring is a Small World between 2,400km and 4,000km in diameter. The world has low gravity between 0.1G and 0.17G. The horizon will appear about 2.5km away.

Mainworld Atmosphere (A)

Gurring has a pressure of less than 0.001 atmospheres which requires the use of a Vacc Suit. TL–8 or more advanced survival gear is required to settle this world.

Mainworld Hydrosphere (H)

Gurring has no free-standing water or ice on the surface. Wilderness refueling isn't possible on this world. Water for the inhabitants needs to be imported and extensively recycled. These worlds are classified Desert World or a Hell World depending on their atmosphere.

History & Background (Dossier)

The system's two stars experience periodic bouts of flare activity, which causes interference, strange tones and noises, and heavy static on commo and sensors.

• During major outbursts of flare activity radiation levels within each star's inner system are dangerously high.
• Exposure to elevated radiation levels causes serious health issues and may damage unshielded electronic devices.

Solomani Security keeps as close an eye as it can on things to ensure the security of the Confederation and the well-being of its loyal citizens. Almost anyone could be a SolSec informant, passing on all sorts of useful information: some gain a reward or benefit for their actions, others are coerced, but a few see it as an act of duty to help protect the Solomani state and its interests.

• Dienabach Grüpen agents closely monitor SolSec activity and counter its moves, if necessary.

World Starport (St)

Gurring has a Class B Starport, a good quality installation which includes all the expected amenities including refined fuel for starships, brokerage services for passengers and cargo, and a variety of ship provisions. There is a shipyard capable of doing annual maintenance, overhauls and most kinds of repair, and construction of non-starships. Most ports of this classification have both a Highport and a Downport.

World Population (P)

Gurring has a population of 5,000 sophonts (thousands).

• This is a Low Population World and the population would be too low to sustain itself without a little outside assistance. This may represent the home base of a sizable but mostly transient population such as the base of a major starship expedition, the last generation of a dying colony, the first generation of a new colony, or a large outpost that will probably evolve into a colony if not stopped.
• The population almost entirely consists of humans of Solomani descent.

Gurring is governed by a Corporate Polity, having a single corporation with a typical corporate structure as a government. Essentially, this is a "company town" (or world). The typical corporate-run world usually has a single purpose. Examples include mining, agriculture, or other kinds of resource extraction. But rather than a simple base of operations, there are facilities for housing workers and their families, including hospitals, schools, and other infrastructure. How, or if, the children of the workers are incorporated into the workforce varies with companies. The corporation running the world may be a subsidiary of a larger interstellar corporation.

There may be few or no law enforcement officers, the expectation is citizens will bring law breakers to the attention of the Judicial system. Legal proceedings will be fast, with few people involved.
