Description (Astrography & Planetology)[edit]

Stellar Data[edit]

Fever is a binary star system.

  • The primary is a yellow main sequence.
  • The secondary is an orange main sequence.
Fever has two stars in the star system.

System Data[edit]

The worlds of the system have been surveyed. They consist of:

Mainworld Data[edit]

Fever orbits within the prime region of its star's habitable zone.

Chart Orbit HZ Region Detailed.png

Mainworld Size (S)[edit]

Fever is a Meso World between 10,400km and 12,000km in diameter. The world has a standard gravity between 0.7G and 0.9G. The horizon will appear about 4.7km away.

Mainworld Atmosphere (A)[edit]

Fever has a pressure of 0.71 to 1.49 atmospheres. While a Standard Atmosphere does not require survival gear this atmosphere also contains an unusual taint such as disease, a hazardous gas mix, pollutants, or sulfur compounds which requires the use of a Filter Mask. Some taints may require more protective equipment. TL–3 or more advanced survival gear is required to settle this world.

Mainworld Hydrosphere (H)[edit]

Fever has 75-85% of its surface covered by liquid water with a few large continents and extensive islands. Wilderness refueling is possible.

Mainworld Geography and Topography[edit]

No centrally held map of the world exists within AAB Library Data records.

History & Background (Dossier)[edit]

Comp-Prog-Dav-R-Deitrick-Starter-Trav-Page-16 16-July-2018a.jpg

Fever is a member of the Cornell Trace, a small cluster and minor trade route lying within the rimward-trailing quadrant of Canopus Sector.

During the Rim War the Confederation attempted to "relocate" a number of non-human races to other worlds, principally to fill gaps in the labor market caused by humans serving in the military. Although it wasn't a member of the Solomani Confederation, large numbers of locals volunteered to fight alongside the Solomani, and Kwaz, a diminutive species from Kvazaat in Aldebaran Sector, were brought to the world to assist with agricultural tasks. Their services remain in demand, they have integrated relatively well, and generally they are thriving.

Despite the world not being a part of the Confederation, Solomani Security keeps a close eye on things to ensure the security of the State and the well-being of its loyal citizens. Almost anyone could be a SolSec informant, passing on all sorts of useful information: some gain a reward or benefit for their actions, others are coerced, while a few see it as an act of duty to help protect the Solomani state and its interests.

World Starport (St)[edit]

Fever has a Class D Starport, a poor quality installation which has few of the expected amenities. There is unrefined fuel for starships and a limited variety of ship provisions. There is no shipyard of any kind, but there may be parts and technical support for doing minor services and repair. Ports of this classification generally consist of only a downport, unless this is a trade port or system with an hostile environment mainworld.

World Population (P)[edit]

Kwaz Sophont Comparison.jpg

Fever has a population of 80,000,000 sophonts (tens of millions).

  • About 95% of the population (roughly 75 million individuals) is made up of humans of Solomani descent.
  • Around 5% of the population (approximately 5 million individuals) consists of Kwaz.

Urbanization[edit]

The Kwaz present on the world live in their own communities, generally built close to human settlements. Structures are constructed to serve their physiological needs and are generally far too small for humans to comfortably enter.

Linguistic Topography[edit]

The most commonly heard languages are:

World Technology Level (T)[edit]

Fever possesses a Technology Level of TL–5.

World Government (G)[edit]

Fever is governed by a Civil Service Bureaucracy. The leadership of the government takes another form (democracy, dictatorship, oligarchy), but the bureaucracy leadership influences policy. The government leadership may select the bureaucracy leadership, but not its membership. Usually the governmental leadership is divided, or incapable of setting policy, and the bureaucracy provides a stabilizing influence. This ruling bureaucracy may be the full government bureaucractic apparatus or a section with limited jurisdiction but considerable influence, like the military.

World Law (L)[edit]

Fever has an extreme law level which covers every area of interaction. Laws are complex, detailed, and difficult to understand. Every interaction with the government requires an Advocate. Law enforcement is omnipresent and strict. Legal proceeding can take months to years to resolve and may involve dozens of people. A few worlds with this law level may be a Red Zone and others will be an Amber Zone. All objects specifically manufactured as weapons are typically regulated or prohibited (with no exception for private residences; visiting starships are only protected so long as they stay within designated starports and approach corridors). Civilian movement is rigidly controlled. Travel documents are frequently checked, and destinations must often be declared when traveling substantial distances across the world.
