Description (Specifications)[edit]

(Chart sourced from Traveller Map)

The Cornell Trace is a small cluster lying within the rimward-trailing quadrant of Canopus Sector.

A basic overview of the Trace, right:

  • The worlds of the Trace are highlighted in brown.

Rift Regions[edit]

The Trace defines the spinward edge of the Marraki Rift, a rift region lying along the border between Canopus and Aldebaran Sectors.

Locally at least, a rift is an astrographic and commercial concept based on Jump Drive performance.

  • Most commercial vessels typically use Jump Drives capable of Jump-3 or less.
  • Areas that cannot be crossed by Jump-3-capable vessels are denoted as rifts.
  • Rifts represent a considerable obstacle to interstellar trade and commerce.

Security & Defense[edit]

The worlds of the Trace are patrolled by the Solomani Navy performing cross-border duties. It protects Confederation interests, suppresses piracy, and ensures interstellar trade and commerce.

History & Background (Dossier)[edit]

High cargo capacity, low jump rating vessels move along the Trace, carrying large amounts of goods and commodities between its member worlds.

During the Rim War the Confederation attempted to "relocate" a number of non-human races to other worlds, principally to fill gaps in the labor market caused by humans serving in the military. Although the worlds of the Trace weren't members of the Solomani Confederation, large numbers of locals volunteered to fight alongside the Solomani, and Kwaz, a diminutive species from Kvazaat in Aldebaran Sector, were brought to the region to assist in agricultural work. Their services remain in demand, they have integrated relatively well, and generally they are thriving.

Although the Trace isn't part of the Confederation, Solomani Security keeps a close eye on things to ensure the security of the Confederation and the well-being of its loyal citizens. Almost anyone could be a SolSec informant, passing on all sorts of useful information: some gain a reward or benefit for their actions, others are coerced, while a few see it as an act of duty to help protect the Solomani state and its interests.

World Listing[edit]

Comprehensive Second Survey data for all worlds that are members of the Cornell Trace is available.

  • The primary source material for all data is Traveller Map.
  • Other sources may differ: some elements of the data may be contradictory or incorrect.
  • Data is occasionally updated as new information becomes available.

AAB library archives contain expanded data about the following systems:
