Despin is the capital of the subsector and the seat of Confederation authority.
It is the headquarters of Confederation Heavy Industries (CHI) LLC, a large corporation with interests in heavy engineering and starship manufacture throughout the trailing half of the Confederation.
Solomani Security keeps a close eye on things to ensure the security of the Confederation and the well-being of its loyal citizens. Almost anyone could be a SolSec informant, passing on all sorts of useful information: some gain a reward or benefit for their actions, others are coerced, but many see it as an act of duty to help protect the Solomani state and its interests.
World Starport (St)[edit]
Despin has a Class A Starport, an excellent quality installation which includes all the expected amenities including refined fuel for starships, brokerage services for passengers and cargo, and a variety of ship provisions. There is a shipyard capable of doing annual maintenance, overhauls and other kinds of repair, and construction of both starships and non-starships. Most ports of this classification have both a Highport and a Downport.

There is a powerful independent organization, the state religion, which has influence or direct control of the government. Like the bureaucratic governments this may simply be a strong influence with a secular government, be direct influence by virtue of controlling who may be in the leadership, or be a direct theocracy where the church leadership and bureaucracy is the government.
World Law (L)[edit]
Despin has an extreme law level which covers every area of interaction. Laws are complex, detailed, and difficult to understand. Every interaction with the government requires an Advocate. Law enforcement is omnipresent and strict. Legal proceeding can take months to years to resolve and may involve dozens of people. Most worlds with this law level may be an Amber Zone or Red Zone. All objects specifically manufactured as weapons are typically regulated or prohibited (with no exception for private residences; visiting starships are only protected so long as they stay within designated starports and approach corridors). All aspects of life rigidly controlled. There is no difference between the police and the military. This world is a full-fledged police state. Oppression is legalized, though not routine.
