Crecilius is a low-population fluid world with a population of less than 10,000 sophonts.
- A fluid world has an oceanic geography consisting of heavily contaminated water or a substance such as ammonia, methane, hydrocarbons, or other exotic liquid.
- It is a member of the Solomani Confederation in the Last Chance Subsector of Magyar Sector.
- It orbits the system's secondary star.
- This world is a "Twilight Zone World", a planet that is tidally-locked to its star. It has a hot side that permanently faces the star, a cold side that permanently faces away, and a narrow twilight zone in-between.
- This is a cold world with an overall climate that is at the lower temperature range of human-congruous sophont endurance.
- This is a "high technology" world with technology achievements at, near, or above the standard for Charted Space.
- This world has a Naval Base, usually associated with military starships.
- This world has a Military Base, usually associated with military ground forces.
- It is a member of the Xianjin-Brimate Cluster.
Description (Astrography & Planetology)[edit]

Notes[edit]
The two stars of the Crecilius system have an average separation of 340 AU and orbit a barycenter that lies between them.
- They have an orbital period around one another of approximately 5,900 standard years.
System Data[edit]
The worlds of the system have been surveyed. They consist of:
- The mainworld, orbiting the secondary star.
- x4 secondary rocky worlds, all orbiting the primary star.
- x1 planetoid belt, orbiting the secondary star.
- x3 gas giants. Two orbit the primary star, one orbits the secondary star.
Mainworld Data[edit]
Crecilius is tidally locked to the system's secondary star.
- The star is always high in the sky on the bright face, it hangs on horizon in the twilight zone, while the cold dark face is in permanent darkness.
- The world experiences libration - a regular wobble - as it orbits, causing the star to move in the sky.
It orbits at the outer edge of its star's habitable zone.
- It receives relatively low levels of stellar energy.
Mainworld Size (S)[edit]
Crecilius is a Meso World between 8,800km and 10,400km in diameter. The world has a standard gravity between 0.6G and 0.8G. The horizon will appear about 4.4km away.
Mainworld Atmosphere (A)[edit]
Crecilius has an Exotic Atmosphere and possesses an unusual gas mix which requires the use of oxygen tanks. Additionally, protective suits, while not necessary, are recommended. TL–8 or more advanced survival gear is required to settle this world.
- It experiences low temperatures within the twilight zone.
Mainworld Hydrosphere (H)[edit]
Crecilius has 65-75% of its surface covered by liquid water and ice heavily tainted with other substances, which makes it dangerous, corrosive, or toxic. Wilderness refueling will be difficult. Water for the inhabitants needs to be imported and extensively recycled. These worlds may be Hell Worlds.
- The water on the surface may be unsuitable for use or consumption without extensive filtering and purification.
- Refining for fuel may cause issues with shipboard purification plants.
Mainworld Geography and Topography[edit]
No centrally held map of the world exists within AAB Library Data records.
History & Background (Dossier)[edit]
Crecilius is a member of the Xianjin-Brimate Cluster, a cluster and important regional trade route lying across parts of Canopus Sector, Dark Nebula Sector, and Magyar Sector. The border between the Solomani Confederation and the Aslan Hierate divides it into distinctive spinward and trailing regions. Large numbers of humans and Aslan, most typically merchants, traders, or casual visitors such as tourists, can be found on both sides of the border.
- Within Dark Nebula, the Cluster is known as the Staai Main.
Hyades Cluster[edit]
The huge stars of the Hyades Cluster, a few parsecs to trailing, are clearly visible to the naked eye from the surface of the world.
- The tidal influence of the stars at the Cluster's core can be detected in the orbits of the system's planets and moons.
- Despite their immense distance from the world, the Cluster's stars cause interference, strange tones and noises, and constant static on commo and sensors.
Other Data[edit]
Solomani Security keeps a close eye on things to ensure the security of the Confederation and the well-being of its loyal citizens. Almost anyone could be a SolSec informant, passing on all sorts of useful information: some gain a reward or benefit for their actions, others are coerced, but many see it as an act of duty to help protect the Solomani state and its interests.
World Starport (St)[edit]
Crecilius has a Class B Starport, a good quality installation which includes all the expected amenities including refined fuel for starships, brokerage services for passengers and cargo, and a variety of ship provisions. There is a shipyard capable of doing annual maintenance, overhauls and most kinds of repair, and construction of non-starships. Most ports of this classification have both a Highport and a Downport.
- This world is host to a Confederation Naval Base.
- This world is host to a major Military Base.
World Population (P)[edit]
Crecilius has a population of 20 sophonts (tens).
- This is a Low Population World and the population would be too low to sustain itself without significant outside assistance. This may represent a transient population such as the crew of a starship, the final survivors of a dying colony, an advance team setting up to receive colonists, or a small outpost where establishing a colony is not the primary objective.
- The population almost entirely consists of Solomani humans.
Linguistic Topography[edit]
The most commonly heard languages are:
- Rim Anglic, a dialect of Anglic and the principal language of the Solomani Confederation.
- Trokh, the principal language of the Aslan Hierate.
- Minor Aslan Languages: note that some Aslan Clans retain obscure or archaic languages for personal use in addition to Trokh.
World Technology Level (T)[edit]
Crecilius possesses a Technology Level of TL–12 or TL-C in Hexadecimal Notation.
- Common Communication technologies for this TL include: Holovision, Personal Global Communications, and advanced Translators.
- Common Power Generation technologies for this TL include: Increasingly advanced fusion plants and advanced fuel cells.
- Common Transportation technologies for this TL include:
- Land, Water & Air: Personal G-Tubes and advanced gravcraft.
- Space: Advanced interplanetary spacecraft (System Craft).
- FTL: Jump Drive-3.
World Government (G)[edit]
Crecilius is governed by a Corporate Polity, having a single corporation with a typical corporate structure as a government. Essentially, this is a "company town" (or world). The typical corporate-run world usually has a single purpose. Examples include mining, agriculture, or other kinds of resource extraction. But rather than a simple base of operations, there are facilities for housing workers and their families, including hospitals, schools, and other infrastructure. How, or if, the children of the workers are incorporated into the workforce varies with companies. The corporation running the world may be a subsidiary of a larger interstellar corporation.
World Law (L)[edit]
Crecilius has a moderate law level with laws covering many areas of government and interaction. These laws are simple enough that most people can act as their own advocate, though for serious issues a professional is recommended. Law enforcement officials will be present, but not in great numbers. Light assault weapons, and anything more destructive, are typically regulated or prohibited.
Trade Data[edit]
- Importance: 2 (ordinary)
World Economy[edit]
- Resources: 7 (few)
- Labor: 0 (none available)
- Infrastructure: 2 (extremely limited)
- Efficiency: +1 (average)
World Culture[edit]
- Heterogenity: 1 (monolithic)
- Acceptance: 3 (xenophobic)
- Strangeness: 3 (somewhat typical)
- Symbols: A (abstract)
