Alsas Subsector is subsector J of Far Frontiers Sector.

Description / Specifications[edit]

(Chart sourced from Traveller Map)

Alsas Subsector is a region of Balkanized Space lying within the rimward half of Far Frontiers Sector. It is dominated by the Federation of Alsas, whose member systems are closely linked by shipping routes and courier lanes. The majority of its worlds remain fiercely independent.

  • The resources of the subsector are being exploited.

Astrographic Features & Trade Routes[edit]

The following astrographic and commercial data has been determined regarding Alsas Subsector:

  • The subsector is an average stellar density region.
  • The brightest stars are the virtually identical red giant primaries of the Katerina and Mafelong systems.
  • Notable features include the Afellahlah Seven star cluster and the smaller Schwennin Cluster.

Stellar Distribution[edit]

A basic map showing the distribution and size of stars within Alsas Subsector, right:

  • The color corresponds to the visible color of the star, which links to its spectral classification.
  • The size as shown indicates both the physical size of the object and its relative brightness.

Note that the stars as depicted are representative. Any star, no matter what its size, is a mere speck within the hex it occupies.

  • Ordinary main sequence stars can barely be seen from even a hex away.
  • Huge, intensely luminous giant stars can be seen from across the subsector and far beyond.

Star Clusters[edit]

Two notable clusters of stars can be found within the subsector: the Afellahlah Seven and the Schwennin Cluster.

World Listing[edit]

Comprehensive Second Survey data for all worlds lying within Alsas subsector is available.

  • The primary source material for all data is Traveller Map.
  • Data is occasionally updated as new information becomes available.

AAB library archives contain expanded data about the following systems:

Verified updated data is constantly sought.

  • Scouting missions gathering reliable, verified data can receive substantial payment.

These are some of the more important historical events that have affected this subsector and the wider region it lies within:

Summary[edit]

Alsas, subsector J of Far Frontiers contains 26 worlds with an estimated population of 15 billion, a per capita income of Cr4,977, and a total economy is BCr75,737. These worlds originate an interstellar trade of BCr1,315 through 16 starports (2 Class A, 3 Class B, 8 Class C, 3 Class D) employing 334,540 people. Driving this interstellar trade are three Agricultural (Ag) worlds, no Non-Agricultural (Na) worlds, two Pre-Agricultural (Pa) worlds, no Pre-Industrial (Pi) worlds, five Rich (Ri) worlds, and no Industrial (In) worlds. The governments in Alsas maintain one Naval base, and one Scout base. The average technology level is 6 (with most between 2 and 10). The highest technology level is 12 at Katherina (Far Frontiers 1129) and Afellahlah (Far Frontiers 1227).

Alsas, subsector J of Far Frontiers contains 38 stars and 207 identified planets; 19 monostellar systems, four binary systems, one trinary system, and two systems with four or more stars. 18 of the 26 systems (69%) have native gas giants. There are one Asteroid (As) belt, five Desert (De) worlds, five Garden (Ga) worlds, no Ice-capped (Ic) worlds, five Poor (Po) worlds, four Vacuum (Va) worlds, and one Water (Wa) or Ocean (Oc) world.

Alsas has an estimated population of 15 billion distributed across two High population (Hi) worlds, two Moderate population (Ph) worlds, ten Non-industrial (Ni) worlds, three Low population (Lo) worlds, and seven Barren (Ba) worlds. The highest population worlds are Afellahlah (Far Frontiers 1227) and Chate Leavult (Far Frontiers 1529). The population consists of 1 sophont groups.

Non-Aligned, Human-dominated[edit]

There are 14 Non-Aligned Human-dominated worlds in Alsas with an estimated population of 10 million.

Federation of Alsas[edit]

The Federation of Alsas has jurisdiction over 12 worlds with an estimated population of 15 billion, a per capita income of Cr4,979, and a total economy is BCr75,716. These worlds originate an interstellar trade of BCr1,267 through 12 starports (2 Class A, 2 Class B, 7 Class C, 1 Class D) employing 320,960 people. The governments in Federation of Alsas maintain one Naval base, and one Scout base. The average technology level is 9 (with most between 7 and 10). The highest technology level is 12 at Afellahlah (Far Frontiers 1227).
