Darmine Space is an astrographic and sociographic feature located within in Zarushagar Sector.

  • It is a historical region with strong cultural ties to the Darmine.
  • It is closely associated with the Darmine Corporate.

Description (Specifications)[edit]

Darmine Space is a historical trading region that survived the collapse of the Rule of Man and the Long Night largely due to the efforts of the Darmine, eventually being absorbed by the Third Imperium.

A simple chart showing the extent of Darmine influence for much of the Long Night.

  • Worlds with other significant sophont populations are marked with a yellow dot.

Core Worlds[edit]

At the heart of Darmine Space were the Core Worlds, centered on Ishag, the Darmine homeworld.

Later Expansion[edit]

With the increasing availability of Sylean Federation-made jump drives from around -200 onwards, the Darmine gradually began to expand their areas of operations, particularly focusing on the worlds of the Rhamsteppe-Mongrebi Main lying to rimward-trailing. Over the course of almost three centuries the Darmine were key in recontacting its worlds, sponsoring new settlements, fostering interstellar trade, and improving local infrastructure and technological knowhow.

  • Worlds on the Main are highlighted in green.

By the time of the Pacification Campaigns the worlds of the Rhamsteppe-Mongrebi Main were strongly culturally aligned to the Darmine, even though there were relatively few actual Darmine among them.

Damine Cultural Region[edit]

The rimward-trailing region of Zarushagar Sector was declared the Darmine Cultural Region by Emperor Artemsus following the Ilelish Pacification Campaign of 76.

The Cultural Region is a largely political construct. It does not include large areas that were traditionally and historically part of Darmine Space, but does include areas that were in the process of being "improved" by the Darmine and had expressed strongly pro-Darmine views as a result. The worlds of the Provalan Cluster, which historically have kept themselves separate from Darmine interests, are not included in the region.

Darmine Space is a region that survived both the collapse of the Rule of Man and the Long Night largely due to the efforts of the Darmine, who under the aegis of the Darmine Corporate continued to conduct trade and commerce, maintained a degree of law and order, and helped defend against threats.

It was not a state, rather a broad area in which the Darmine and others were active: the populations of most of its worlds were of Vilani or Terran descent, with few native Darmine ever being present. Despite this, it is regarded as a Darmine "Golden Age" and most worlds are proud of their association with it.

The Darmine Space region was absorbed by the expanding Third Imperium following the Ilelish Pacification Campaign.

Comprehensive Second Survey data for all worlds that were part of Darmine Space is available.

  • The primary source material for all data is Traveller Map.
  • Other sources may differ: some elements of the data may be contradictory or incorrect.
  • Data is occasionally updated as new information becomes available.

AAB library archives contain expanded data about the following systems:
