Tomas is a ring of many small worldlets (planetoids AKA an "asteroid belt"), not capable of retaining an atmosphere or water, and nonindustrial in nature.

  • These worldlets warrant hazardous environment precautions.
  • Life in a vacuum requires great discipline. After all, it only takes one forgotten seal on a vacuum suit to spell death. Those who survive tend to be very methodically-minded and attentive to small detail.
  • The worldlets require extensive imports of outside technology to maintain a modern, star-faring society. Having to import most manufactured and high tech goods drives the price up for these items at this world.
  • It is a member of the Third Imperium in the Khipge Subsector of Zarushagar Sector in the Domain of Ilelish.
  • This world has an Imperial Scout base, capable of handling IISS starships and personnel.
  • It is a member of the Khipge Line cluster.
  • It is considered to be part of Darmine Space.

System Data[edit]

The worlds of the system have been surveyed. They consist of:

Mainworld Data[edit]

Tomas is an Asteroid Belt mainworld.

Asteroid Belt 06.jpg

Mainworld Size (S)[edit]

Tomas is an Asterioid Belt or Planetoid Belt consisting of a few very large objects with diameters of hundreds of kilometers, thousands of bodies of a few kilometers in diameter, and millions of smaller objects. Asteroid Belt is used when the belt is the mainworld of a system. Planetoid Belt refers to any non-mainworld belt within a system.

Mainworld Atmosphere (A)[edit]

None of the bodies within the Tomas belt retain an atmosphere.

Mainworld Hydrosphere (H)[edit]

The Tomas belt contains a few icy bodies. A few belt objects may have frozen volatiles on their surfaces.

  • Wilderness refueling is possible within the belt, provided a suitable icy object can be found.
  • Water for the inhabitants is generally imported and is extensively recycled.

Mainworld Geography and Topography[edit]

No centrally held map of the world exists within AAB Library Data records.

History & Background (Dossier)[edit]

Comp-Prog-Dav-R-Deitrick-Starter-Trav-Page-16 16-July-2018a.jpg

Tomas is a member of the Khipge Line, a cluster and minor trade route in the central part of Zarushagar Sector.

The world was a part of Darmine Space, a region that survived both the collapse of the Rule of Man and the Long Night largely due to the efforts of the Darmine, who under the aegis of the Darmine Corporate continued to conduct trade and commerce, maintained a degree of law and order, and helped defend against threats. It was not a state, rather a broad area in which the Darmine and others were active: the populations of most of its worlds were of Vilani or Terran descent, with few native Darmine ever being present. Despite this, it is regarded as a Darmine "Golden Age" and most worlds are proud of their association with it. The Darmine Space region was absorbed by the expanding Third Imperium following the Ilelish Pacification Campaign.

World Starport (St)[edit]

Tomas has a Class C Starport, an average quality installation which includes amenities including unrefined fuel for starships, some brokerage services for passengers and cargo, and a variety of ship provisions. There is a shipyard capable of doing maintenance and other kinds of repair. Ports of this classification generally have only a downport, unless this is a trade port or system with an hostile environment mainworld.

World Population (P)[edit]

Tomas has a population of 800,000 sophonts (hundreds of thousands).

  • This is a Nonindustrial World, too small to support the complete chain of production of most goods from start to finish.

Linguistic Topography[edit]

The most commonly heard languages are:

World Technology Level (T)[edit]

Tomas possesses a Technology Level of TL–11 or TL-B in Hexadecimal Notation.

World Government (G)[edit]

Tomas is governed by a Feudal Technocracy. Society divides itself based on the technical requirements of the society. Each of these functions are granted as a fief to an individual or group. Leadership of these fiefs determines the head of the government.

World Law (L)[edit]

Tomas has a moderate law level with laws covering many areas of government and interaction. These laws are simple enough that most people can act as their own advocate, though for serious issues a professional is recommended. Law enforcement officials will be present, but not in great numbers. Light assault weapons, and anything more destructive, are typically regulated or prohibited.

Imperial Landed Nobility[edit]

Tomas, as a member world of the Third Imperium has a member of the Imperial Nobility overseeing the world.
