An Asteroid Belt World is a belt, which is the primary world or mainworld in the system. It is a producer of raw materials and semi-finished goods, especially ores, metals, and minerals.
- A belt, which is not the mainworld, is called a Planetoid Belt.
- It is a Main World (MW) designation.
- It is a Planet or world type.
Description (Specifications)[edit]
Asteroid Belt: A series of small fragments (size less than 1) orbiting a star and considered a mainworld. When inhabited, they are called worldlets.

History & Background (Dossier)[edit]
Asteroid belts are prime locations for the mining of resources, and specialized deep space miners called belters are known to dwell and work in within these locations.
Asteroids vs. Planetoids![edit]
Asteroid and Planetoid Belts: The terms asteroid and planetoid are effectively synonymous; they mean small or minor planets. Each term refers to a belt of many similar small planets in orbit around the central star.
- For the purposes of differentiation, the term asteroid refers to such a belt when it is the main world of a system. The term planetoid belt refers to such a group of minor planets when another belt or world is the main world in a system.
- Asteroid and planetoid belts typically hold between 1,000 and 10,000 asteroids or planetoids each. [1]
