Romansel is a low-population world with a population of less than 10,000 sophonts in size.
- This world has yet to take off economically or otherwise and the population remains low for reasons largely unknown.
- It is a member of the Solomani Confederation in the Borethane Subsector of Neworld Sector.
- This world is a "Twilight Zone World", a planet that is tidally-locked to its star. It has a hot side that permanently faces the star, a cold side that permanently faces away, and a narrow twilight zone in-between.
- This is a "high technology" world with technology achievements at, near, or above the standard for Charted Space.
- It is a member of the Borethan Worlds region of the Borethane Cluster.
Description (Astrography & Planetology)[edit]
Stellar Data[edit]
Romansel is a binary star system.
- Both are red main sequence stars.
- They are close companions.

System Data[edit]
The worlds of the system have been surveyed: all have circumbinary orbits around the two stars.
They consist of:
- The mainworld.
- x7 secondary rocky worlds.
- x2 planetoid belts.
Mainworld Data[edit]
Romansel is tidally locked to its two stars.
- The stars are always high in the sky on the bright face, they hang on horizon in the twilight zone, while the cold dark face is in permanent darkness.
- The world experiences libration - a regular wobble - as it orbits, causing the stars to move in the sky.
Mainworld Size (S)[edit]
Romansel is a Meso World between 5,600km and 7,200km in diameter. The world has low gravity between 0.32G and 0.46G. The horizon will appear about 3.6km away.
Mainworld Atmosphere (A)[edit]
Romansel has a pressure of less than 0.1 atmospheres which requires the use of a Vacc Suit. TL–8 or more advanced survival gear is required to settle this world.
Mainworld Hydrosphere (H)[edit]
Romansel has no free-standing water or ice on the surface. Wilderness refueling isn't possible on this world. Water for the inhabitants needs to be imported and extensively recycled. These worlds are classified Desert World or a Hell World depending on their atmosphere.
Mainworld Geography and Topography[edit]
No centrally held map of the world exists within AAB Library Data records.
(Blank map, trace atmosphere world.)
History & Background (Dossier)[edit]
Romansel is a member of the Borethan Worlds region of the Borethane Cluster, a cluster and trade route lying across the border between Aldebaran Sector and Neworld Sector.
Solomani Security keeps a close eye on things to ensure the security of the Confederation and the well-being of its loyal citizens. Almost anyone could be a SolSec informant, passing on all sorts of useful information: some gain a reward or benefit for their actions, others are coerced, but many see it as an act of duty to help protect the Solomani state and its interests.
World Starport (St)[edit]
Romansel has a Class B Starport, a good quality installation which includes all the expected amenities including refined fuel for starships, brokerage services for passengers and cargo, and a variety of ship provisions. There is a shipyard capable of doing annual maintenance, overhauls and most kinds of repair, and construction of non-starships. Most ports of this classification have both a Highport and a Downport.
World Population (P)[edit]
Romansel has a population of 600 sophonts (hundreds).
- This is a Low Population World and the population would be too low to sustain itself without moderate outside assistance. This may represent a large transient population such as the crew of a fleet of starships, the dwindling remnants of a dying colony, a construction team building a new colony, or an outpost that could evolve into a colony.
- The population almost entirely consists of Solomani humans.
Linguistic Topography[edit]
The most commonly heard languages are:
- Rim Anglic, a dialect of Anglic and the principal language of the Confederation.
World Technology Level (T)[edit]
Romansel possesses a Technology Level of TL–14 or TL-E in Hexadecimal Notation.
- Common Communication technologies for this TL include: Early meson communicators.
- Common Power Generation technologies for this TL include: Miniature super-batteries, early collectors, and advanced fusion plants.
- Common Transportation technologies for this TL include:
- Land, Water & Air: Personal G-Tubes and advanced gravcraft.
- Space: Advanced interplanetary spacecraft (System Craft).
- FTL: Jump Drive-5.
World Government (G)[edit]
Romansel has no central government or substantial government apparatus; an Anarchy. The largest governmental structure would be a family, tribe, or single clan. The largest group will be between 50 and 100 individuals, and there may be dozens to hundreds of them. This governmental structure can be stable over long periods of time if the population remains small or geographically separated.
World Law (L)[edit]
Romansel has a low law level. There are few laws, covering only important areas. There may be few or no law enforcement officers, the expectation is citizens will bring law breakers to the attention of the Judicial system. Legal proceedings will be fast, with few people involved. For interactions outside of the framework of the laws, cultural norms dominate. Portable energy weapons, body pistols, explosives, and poison gas are typically regulated or prohibited.
Trade Data[edit]
- Importance: 1 (ordinary)
World Economy[edit]
- Resources: E (extremely abundant)
- Labor: 1 (tens)
- Infrastructure: 1 (extremely limited)
