Zalucha Subsector is subsector D of Massilia Sector.
- It is an Imperial core region that has been settled for millennia.
- The subsector has small populations of Geonee.
Description (Specifications)[edit]
The following astrographic and commercial data has been determined regarding Zalucha Subsector:
Astrographic Features[edit]
The subsector is a generally unremarkable area lying within the Imperial Core.
- It is an average stellar density region.
- The brightest star is the white main sequence primary of the Friton system.
Stellar Distribution[edit]
A basic map showing the distribution and size of stars within Zalucha Subsector.
- The color corresponds to the visible color of the star, which links to its spectral classification.
- The size as shown indicates both the physical size of the object and its relative brightness.
(Chart sourced from Traveller Map)
Note that the stars as depicted are representative. Any star, no matter what its size, is a mere speck within the hex it occupies.
- Ordinary main sequence stars can barely be seen from even a hex away.
- Huge, intensely luminous giant stars can be seen from across the subsector and far beyond.
Trade Routes[edit]
A number of important trade routes lie within the region. High cargo capacity, low jump rating vessels moving along them, carrying vast amounts of goods and commodities between their member worlds.
The Delphi Main[edit]
Fourteen worlds, along the rimward-trailing edge of the subsector, lie on the Delphi Main. The main has 95 member worlds and runs between Massilia and Delphi Sectors.
(Chart sourced from Traveller Map)
- Worlds lying on the Main are highlighted in green.
The Watia Cluster[edit]
Seven worlds within the subsector are members of the Watia Cluster, a small cluster lying along the coreward edge of the subsector. It has 10 member worlds and bridges the border between Core Sector and Massilia Sector.
- In Core Sector, this is named the Unlakhar Cluster.
(Chart sourced from Traveller Map)
- Worlds lying within the cluster are highlighted in brown.
The Wynd Trace[edit]
Five worlds within the subsector are members of the Wynd Trace, a small cluster of stars lying along the border between Khisham and Zalucha Subsectors. It has 11 member worlds.
(Chart sourced from Traveller Map)
- Worlds lying within the trace are highlighted in tan.
World Listing[edit]
Comprehensive Second Survey data for all worlds lying within Zalucha Subsector is available.
- The primary source material for all data is Traveller Map.
- Other sources may differ: some elements of the data may be contradictory or incorrect.
- Data is occasionally updated as new information becomes available.
AAB library archives contain expanded data about the following systems:
Note that some Second Survey data, though only 40 years old, may already be out of date.
- Scouting missions gathering reliable, verified data can receive substantial payment.
History & Background (Dossier)[edit]
Polity Listing[edit]
The following polities can be found within this subsector:
Other Powers[edit]
- Ziru Sirka (historical)
- Rule of Man (historical)
Military Forces[edit]
The Zalucha Subsector is defended by 199th Fleet.
Native Sophonts[edit]
The Verishnalo, an extinct group native to the deep canyons of Vageau, are believed by some to have been a distinct sophont species.
- There is evidence to suggest that they were humans descended from the survivors of a wrecked Vilani vessel.
Demographics[edit]
Significant populations of the following races (sophont species) reside within this area:
- Humaniti (Human races)
- Geonee (Minor Human Race): small numbers dwell within the region.
- Mixed heritage (Major Race): widely spread across the region.
- Solomani (Major Race): many genetically distinct individuals and communities.
- Vilani (Major Race): many genetically distinct individuals and communities.
Linguistic Topography[edit]
The following languages are among the most commonly used within this astrographic region:
- Anglic: One of the two official languages of the Third Imperium.
- Irkonee: The predominate language of the Geonee.
- Vilani: One of the two official languages of the Third Imperium.
Subsector Timeline[edit]
Major events that have affected this subsector and the wider region that it lies within:

- circa -9,000: the Geonee encounter the Vilani.
- -5400 to -4015: the Vilani Consolidation Wars.
- -4045 to -2204: the region is part of the Ziru Sirka.
- -2204 to -1776: the region becomes part of the Rule of Man.

- 624: the Express Boat Network is established.
- 995-1065: the Imperial Second Survey charts the subsector.
- 1065: the Second Survey is published. Information about the subsector becomes widely available.
Subsector Summary[edit]
Zalucha, subsector D of Massilia contains 29 worlds with an estimated population of 954 million, a per capita income of Cr3,352, and a total economy is BCr3,198. These worlds originate an interstellar trade of BCr18,360 through 26 starports (4 Class A, 19 Class B, 2 Class C, 1 Class D) employing 2,949,915 people. Driving this interstellar trade are five Agricultural (Ag) worlds, five Non-Agricultural (Na) worlds, two Pre-Agricultural (Pa) worlds, five Pre-Industrial (Pi) worlds, one Rich (Ri) world, and no Industrial (In) worlds. The governments in Zalucha maintain seven Naval bases, three Scout bases, and one Way station. The average technology level is 10 (with most between 8 and 13). The highest technology level is 15 at Zalucha (Massilia 2508) and Coxe (Massilia 3009).
Zalucha, subsector D of Massilia contains 47 stars and 294 identified planets; 11 monostellar systems, 18 binary systems, no trinary systems, and no systems with four or more stars. 27 of the 29 systems (93%) have native gas giants. There are two Asteroid (As) belts, no Desert (De) worlds, one Garden (Ga) world, no Ice-capped (Ic) worlds, four Poor (Po) worlds, five Vacuum (Va) worlds, and one Water (Wa) or Ocean (Oc) world.
Zalucha has an estimated population of 954 million distributed across no High population (Hi) worlds, three Moderate population (Ph) worlds, 14 Non-industrial (Ni) worlds, eight Low population (Lo) worlds, and no Barren (Ba) worlds. The highest population worlds are Aderveen (Massilia 2905), Vageau (Massilia 3106), and Sanidon (Massilia 3108). The population consists of 1 sophont groups.
