Vageau is a non-agricultural, pre-industrial, moderate population world with over a hundred million, but not yet a billion sophonts in population size.
- It is unable to produce quality foodstuffs and must import them.
- Its economy and population are growing and living conditions are expected to improve in the near future barring outside forces.
- It is a member of the Third Imperium in the Zalucha Subsector of Massilia Sector in the Domain of Sylea.
- It lies on the Delphi Main.
- At the founding of the Imperium this world was known as Kegir Impuu.
Description (Astrography & Planetology)[edit]
Stellar Data[edit]
Vageau is a binary star system.
- Both are tiny red main sequence stars named Kegir I and Kegir II respectively.
System Data[edit]
The worlds of the system have been surveyed. They consist of:
- The mainworld.
- x5 secondary rocky worlds.
- x1 planetoid belt.
- x2 gas giants.
Mainworld Data[edit]
A small, nearly waterless and airless world, Vageau is nonetheless the only habitable world in its binary system.
Mainworld Size (S)[edit]
Vageau is a Small World between 4,000km and 5,600km in diameter. The world has low gravity between 0.24G and 0.34G. The horizon will appear about 3km away.
Mainworld Atmosphere (A)[edit]
Vageau has a pressure of less than 0.1 atmospheres which requires the use of a Vacc Suit. TL–8 or more advanced survival gear is required to settle this world.
Mainworld Hydrosphere (H)[edit]
Vageau has no free-standing water or ice on the surface. Wilderness refueling isn't possible on this world. Water for the inhabitants needs to be imported and extensively recycled. These worlds are classified Desert World or a Hell World depending on their atmosphere.
Mainworld Geography and Topography[edit]
(Blank map, trace atmosphere world.)
History & Background (Dossier)[edit]
Vageau lies on the Delphi Main, an important trade route straddling the border between Massilia Sector and Delphi Sector.
Two major waves of settlement occurred on Vageau, and in time blended to produce the culture to which the 300 million modern residents belong. The first wave consisted of Vilani humans who colonized the planet sometime during the later years of the First Imperium, and the second was made up of immigrants who arrived in large numbers during the early centuries of the Third Imperium.
A third population group existed, now lost or indistinguishable from the rest of society: these were named the Verishnalo in the Vilani language and were described as a "proto-nation of barely sapient natives". They appear to have been human, however, and were likely the regressed, inbred descendants of a lost Vilani vessel dating from the earliest days of Vilani interstellar exploration, with their presence on the world long predating the Ziru Sirka. They had either been wiped out or entirely assimilated by the end of the Long Night.
World Starport (St)[edit]
Vageau has a Class E Starport, a frontier quality installation with few expected amenities. There is unrefined fuel for starships and a limited variety of ship provisions. There is no shipyard of any kind, but there may be parts and technical support for doing minor services and repair. Ports of this classification generally consist of a downport.
World Population (P)[edit]
Vageau has a population of 300,000,000 sophonts (hundreds of millions).
Urbanization[edit]
The population inhabit a series of huge crevasses and canyons running across the world's surface, taking advantage of the greater atmospheric pressure in those lowlands.
- The most desirable properties are in the mid-levels of the canyons: high levels get better light but the air is far thinner, while deep levels have better air but are far darker.
Linguistic Topography[edit]
The most commonly heard languages are:
- Anglic, one of the two official languages of the Imperium.
- Vilani, one of the two official languages of the Imperium.
World Technology Level (T)[edit]
Vageau possesses a Technology Level of TL–8.
- Common Communication technologies for this TL include: Fiber optics, improved telephones, and satellite communication and data networks.
- Common Power Generation technologies for this TL include: Improved geothermal and improved batteries.
- Common Transportation technologies for this TL include:
- Land: Advanced automobiles.
- Water: Triphibians and early artificial gills.
- Air: Improved helicopters and hypersonic jets.
- Space: Space shuttles, early space stations, and improved interplanetary spacecraft (System Craft).
World Government (G)[edit]
Vageau is governed by a Civil Service Bureaucracy. The leadership of the government takes another form (democracy, dictatorship, oligarchy), but the bureaucracy leadership influences policy. The government leadership may select the bureaucracy leadership, but not its membership. Usually the governmental leadership is divided, or incapable of setting policy, and the bureaucracy provides a stabilizing influence. This ruling bureaucracy may be the full government bureaucractic apparatus or a section with limited jurisdiction but considerable influence, like the military.
World Law (L)[edit]
Vageau has a moderate law level with laws covering many areas of government and interaction. These laws are simple enough that most people can act as their own advocate, though for serious issues a professional is recommended. Law enforcement officials will be present, but not in great numbers. Light assault weapons, and anything more destructive, are typically regulated or prohibited.
Imperial Landed Nobility[edit]
Vageau, as a member world of the Third Imperium, holds the estate of an Imperial Landed Knight who acts as an Imperial representative to the world, and the fiefdoms of two members of the Imperial Landed Nobility, who oversee affairs regarding the world at an Interstellar and Imperial level.
- It holds the estate of an Imperial knight, the Imperial representative to the world.
- It holds the fiefdom of an Imperial marquis.
- It holds the fiefdom of an Imperial viscount.

- Importance: -2 (very unimportant)
World Economy[edit]
- Resources: D (very abundant)
- Labor: 7 (tens of millions)
- Infrastructure: 6 (limited)
- Efficiency: -4 (very poor)
