Wolfe is a pre-agricultural and nonindustrial world lacking adequate development for its economy to become prosperous.

  • As a nonindustrial world, it requires extensive imports of outside technology to maintain a modern, star-faring society. The need to import most manufactured and high technology goods drives the price of these goods up in the open market.
  • It is a member of the Solomani Confederation in the Cybele Subsector of Aldebaran Sector.

Description (Astrography & Planetology)[edit]

Stellar Data[edit]

Wolfe has a solitary primary star.

  • It is a yellow main sequence.

System Data[edit]

The worlds of the system have been surveyed. They consist of:

Mainworld Data[edit]

Wolfe orbits within the inner region of the star's habitable zone.

Mainworld Size (S)[edit]

Wolfe is a Meso World between 10,400km and 12,000km in diameter. The world has a standard gravity between 0.7G and 0.9G. The horizon will appear about 4.7km away.

Mainworld Atmosphere (A)[edit]

Wolfe has a pressure of 1.50 to 2.49 atmospheres. A Dense Atmosphere requires no survival gear although it may be hard on sophonts not accustomed to it.

Mainworld Hydrosphere (H)[edit]

Wolfe has 75-85% of its surface covered by liquid water with a few large continents and extensive islands. Wilderness refueling is possible.

Mainworld Geography and Topography[edit]

No centrally held map of the world exists within AAB Library Data records.

Wolfe is a geologically-active planet with 2 separate large landmasses, each with 2 high mountain ranges. Archipelagoes dot the oceans, with most islands being close enough together to be visible from the next.

Native Lifeforms[edit]

Abundant native life occupying every available ecological niche. Its metabolic functions drive the process of atmospheric renewal.

Local flora tends to be large. Trees are usually over 50 meters in height, and grow quickly.

History & Background (Dossier)[edit]

Comp-Prog-Dav-R-Deitrick-Starter-Trav-Page-16 16-July-2018a.jpg

Wolfe was colonized by the colony vessel Waiferar (massing over 4000 dTons and rated at Jump-4) and commanded by Captain Jon Smið.

Captain Smið insisted on naming Wolfe and many of the other worlds that he was involved in settling. It is rumored here that the Waiferar still exists, somewhere far to rimward, and that it may return.

World Starport (St)[edit]

Wolfe has a Class B Starport, a good quality installation which includes all the expected amenities including refined fuel for starships, brokerage services for passengers and cargo, and a variety of ship provisions. There is a shipyard capable of doing annual maintenance, overhauls and most kinds of repair, and construction of non-starships. Most ports of this classification have both a Highport and a Downport.

World Population (P)[edit]

Wolfe has a population of 10,000 sophonts (tens of thousands).

  • This is a Nonindustrial World, too small to support the complete chain of production of most goods from start to finish.
  • The population almost entirely consists of Solomani humans.

Urbanization[edit]

The capitol of Wolfe is Rome, lying 30 km from the downport and constructed on a plateau overlooking a large estuary leading to the ocean.

Construction techniques are around TL–11, with a handful of impressive modern structures and a vigorous reconstruction effort of older buildings.

Linguistic Topography[edit]

The most commonly heard languages are:

World Technology Level (T)[edit]

Wolfe possesses a Technology Level of TL–10 or TL-A in Hexadecimal Notation.

World Government (G)[edit]

Wolfe is governed by a Feudal Technocracy. Society divides itself based on the technical requirements of the society. Each of these functions are granted as a fief to an individual or group. Leadership of these fiefs determines the head of the government.

World Law (L)[edit]

Wolfe has a moderate level with laws covering many areas of government and interaction. These laws are simple enough that most people can act as their own advocate, though for serious issues a professional is recommended. Law enforcement officials will be present, but not in great numbers. Personal concealable firearms, and anything more destructive, are typically regulated or prohibited.

Trade Data[edit]

World Economy[edit]

The world's economy is centered around agriculture and aquaculture. It has a thriving service economy and its university offers excellent education programs.

World Culture[edit]

The peoples of Wolfe descend from colonists from Quesada, and have their own separate branch of the Church. Wolfens tend to be more permissive in their faith, but are very willing to argue vigorously its finer points. Beyond that, the culture is live-and-let-live and individual rights are strongly protected. This touchpoint has made for a solid and stable society, but has slowed its growth, as it is difficult to gain consensus on difficult issues.
