Sibigil Subsector is Subsector H of Theta Borealis Sector.

  • It lies within Charted Space.
  • On older surveys it may be referred to as the Sibigil Quadrant.

Description (Specifications)[edit]

Sibigil Subsector has an improving economy and expanding settlements.

  • The majority of activity within the subsector occurs along its rimward edge.
  • It is a developing, corporate-dominated region.
  • The resources of the subsector are being exploited.

Astrographic Features & Trade Routes[edit]

The following astrographic and commercial data has been determined regarding Sibigil Subsector:

Stellar Distribution[edit]

A basic map showing the distribution and size of stars within Sibigil Subsector, right:

  • The color corresponds to the visible color of the star, which links to its spectral classification.
  • The size as shown indicates both the physical size of the object and its relative brightness.

Note that the stars as depicted are representative. Any star, no matter what its size, is a mere speck within the hex it occupies.

  • Ordinary main sequence stars can barely be seen from even a hex away.
  • Huge, intensely luminous giant stars can be seen from across the subsector and far beyond.

Rift Regions[edit]

One major rift area dominates the subsector: the Thetan Void.

Locally at least, a rift is an astrographic concept based on Jump Drive performance.

The highest tech level commonly encountered out this Far Along (spinward of the Third Imperium) is TL–12, though a few worlds may be more advanced.

» Uncharted Anomaly:

The "Enigma of Theta Borealis" is a mysterious astrographic feature that seems to be localized in parts of Monway and Banderhue Subsectors to coreward.
  • Its precise location, nature, and characteristics remain unknown.
  • It is believed to be an uncharted space-time anomaly
  • What relationship (if any) it has to the rift / void region of this subsector remains unknown.

Borealis Group[edit]

The subsector forms part of the Borealis Group, a gigantic, broadly spherical cluster of stars centered on Theta Borealis Sector.

  • It is a distinctive, extremely bright feature that can be easily observed from all across Charted Space.
  • It is more than 40 parsecs in diameter.
  • It contains an unusually high number of giant stars.
  • It is the density of giant stars within the region, rather than their individual brightness, that makes the feature so prominent.

Chains of giant stars trail out from the cluster into many of the surrounding sectors.

  • Sibigil Subsector lies to trailing of the clusters core. A few systems along its rimward edge form the tip of a long outlying trail of giant stars.

Theta Borealis Bright Stars 2.jpg

The night-time skies of all of the worlds across the region are studded with a panoply of colorful, intensely bright stars.

  • Some are so bright that they can be clearly seen from planetary surfaces during daylight hours.
  • The brightest is Theta Borealis, an unstable, violent, blue-white bright supergiant with a luminosity of around 73,000 sols.
  • Other extremely bright stars within the cluster include Sigma Borealis, Tau Borealis, Epsilon Borealis, Mu Borealis, and Kappa Borealis.
  • While the cluster contains many extremely luminous giant stars, Theta B is exponentially brighter than any of the others.

Dennson Main[edit]

The Dennson Main, an important local trade route, runs through the subsector. It is named for Dennson, its most important world.

A basic chart of the region's star lanes is shown, right:

Deep Space Calibration Point[edit]

(Chart sourced from Traveller Map).

A Calibration Point (a deep space refuelling point) is located within the subsector.

It is called the Deepspace Jump Hub

The hub is corporate-operated and not generally available to non-corporate personnel or vessels.

Hexes are extremely large, in the region of 3.2 light years / 170 light weeks across.

  • Without exact coordinates to jump to within it, any ship arriving randomly within the hex is likely to end up many tens of light-weeks away from the Calibration Point.
  • Exact coordinates, all required permits, and current security codes should be acquired before travel to the Hub is attempted.

World Listing[edit]

Comprehensive Second Survey data for all worlds lying within Sibigil Subsector is available.

  • The primary source material for all data is Traveller Map.
  • Other sources may differ: some elements of the data may be contradictory or incorrect.
  • Data is occasionally updated as new information becomes available.
  • Scouting missions gathering reliable, verified data can receive substantial payment.

AAB library archives contain expanded data about the following systems:

Subsector Summary: 1105[edit]

Note that this section is awaiting an AAB Interal Records update.

Sibigil, subsector H of Theta Borealis contains 12 worlds with an estimated population of 1 billion, a per capita income of Cr2,527, and a total economy is BCr2,806. These worlds originate an interstellar trade of BCr264 through 10 starports (4 Class A, 4 Class B, 2 Class C, 0 Class D) employing 29,280 people. Driving this interstellar trade are two Agricultural (Ag) worlds, one Non-Agricultural (Na) world, two Pre-Agricultural (Pa) worlds, two Pre-Industrial (Pi) worlds, one Rich (Ri) world, and no Industrial (In) worlds. The governments in Sibigil maintain one Scout base. The average technology level is 9 (with most between 7 and 11). The highest technology level is 13 at Kersian (Theta Borealis 2619).

Sibigil, subsector H of Theta Borealis contains 18 stars and 135 identified planets; seven monostellar systems, four binary systems, one trinary system, and no systems with four or more stars. 9 of the 12 systems (75%) have native gas giants. There are one Asteroid (As) belt, no Desert (De) worlds, no Garden (Ga) worlds, no Ice-capped (Ic) worlds, two Poor (Po) worlds, one Vacuum (Va) world, and two Water (Wa) or Ocean (Oc) worlds.

Sibigil has an estimated population of 1 billion distributed across no High population (Hi) worlds, three Moderate population (Ph) worlds, four Non-industrial (Ni) worlds, three Low population (Lo) worlds, and no Barren (Ba) worlds. The highest population worlds are Zelden (Theta Borealis 3019), Dutan (Theta Borealis 2717), and Thacuri (Theta Borealis 2720). The population consists of 1 sophont groups.
