Deepspace Jump Hub
The Deepspace Jump Hub is a deep space facility.
- It is located within Sibigil Subsector of Theta Borealis Sector.
- It is a Calibration Point located within empty hex 3117.
- Its location is not widely known and access is generally not granted.
Description / Specifications[edit]
The Deepspace Hub is a large facility located within (empty) hex 3117 of Sibigil Subsector.
- It is operated and maintained by a private commercial enterprise.
- It is a civilian facility intended to support merchant and commercial operations.
- It is entirely operated by corporate personnel.
Maneuver Drives[edit]
Reactionless M-Drives do not function without the massive gravity well created by a star or a planet - most ships that arrive within empty hex Rosorky 0218 cannot maneuver.
- Jumping to the station requires knowledge of its vector and velocity relative to the point of origin. Failure to compensate for this will result in the arriving vessel moving away from the station in a random direction at a very high rate.
- Precise Astrogation (which takes into account the relative vectors) and exact jump coordinates exponentially reduce the dangers.
The station operates a number of Tugs, small craft with extremely powerful R-Drives. These accelerate out to the newly arrived vessel and attach to it, acting as its drive system and delivering it to the station.
Jump-capable rescue vessels operate from the station. Like tugs, they use R-Drives in order to move.
- The target vessel is precisely located using sensors and communications.
- Depending on the distance to the target vessel, a rescue ship may elect to perform a micro-jump to its location.
- Hydrogen tankers may be used in this role, matching vectors with the target vessel, jumping to intercept it, and refuelling and resupplying it.
- The rescued vessel generally then continues on to its next destination system.
- Rescues cost a considerable amount to perform. The rescued party is liable for ALL costs.
The Station[edit]
The station facilitates trade and commerce within the region.
- It is approximately 45,000 dTons.
- It is broadly equivalent to a Class B Starport.
- Detailed technical specifications can be found here.
Access to the station and its facilities is NOT granted to travellers.

Within Empty Hex Sibigil 3117[edit]
The station lies within the hex. It constantly transmits signals and has a relatively large EM signature.
- The station can "go dark", powering down and stopping transmissions to dramatically reduce its sensor signature.
Sensor Pickets[edit]
The station is surrounded by a sphere of sensor pickets, lying up to 5,000 AU distant. These do not provide their location relative to the station.
- The pickets provide emergency assistance to vessels that have emerged from jump, perhaps as a result of a navigation error, at a great distance from the station.
- Each picket automatically broadcasts a signal if it detects a vessel within its sensor range or if it is physically accessed.
- The broadcast signal is received by the station, which reacts accordingly.
Service crews occasionally perform maintenance, resupply, refuelling, and repair missions to individual pickets.
- Note that sensor pickets were designed to operate within a star system, where their solar arrays could gather energy from the star.
- The array is retained on deep space pickets but produces no more than a few Watts of power when deployed.
History & Background / Dossier[edit]
The station's location is not widely known and access is rarely granted.
- Precise jump coordinates are required before travel to the station.
- Station security is efficient and extremely well equipped.

The station was one of a class designed as orbital facilities, able to hold position above a planetary body within a star system.
The station relies on a variety of support craft:
- Large hydrogen tankers, typically operating from a nearby system with a gas giant, regularly refill the station's internal fuel tanks.
- Transport vessels bring supplies such as food and water.
- Couriers transport messages and communications.
Astrography[edit]
The station is located in the following area:

World Listing[edit]
The following worlds are associated with the station:
- The primary source material for all data is Traveller Map.
- Other sources may contain contradictory or incorrect information.
Note that some Second Survey data, though only 40 years old, is likely to be out of date.
- Data is occasionally updated as new information becomes available.
- Scouting missions gathering reliable, verified data can receive substantial payment.
- Verified updated data is constantly sought.
