Ugnes is a non-agricultural and nonindustrial vacuum world, which warrants hazardous environment precautions.
- Life in a vacuum requires great discipline. After all, it only takes one forgotten seal on a vacuum suit to spell death. Those who survive tend to be very methodically-minded and attentive to small detail.
- It requires extensive imports of outside technology to maintain a modern, star-faring society.
- It is unable to produce quality foodstuffs and must import them.
- It has few prospects for economic development.
- It is a member world of the Percavid Marches region of the Korsumug Empire, located in the Persiphus Subsector of Theta Borealis Sector.
Description (Astrography & Planetology)[edit]
Stellar Data[edit]
Ugnes has a solitary primary star.
- It is a huge red bright giant named Tau Borealis.
- It can be seen from across Charted Space.
System Data[edit]
The worlds of the system have been surveyed. They consist of:
- The mainworld.
- x5 secondary rocky worlds.
Mainworld Data[edit]
Ugnes is the moon of a large rocky world named Sengu.
- It orbits once every few days.
The mainworld and its larger primary world orbit within the outer system.
- They orbit far inside the star's enormous Jump Shadow.
- They receive very low levels of stellar energy.
Mainworld Size (S)[edit]
Ugnes is a Small World between 900km and 2,400km in diameter. The world has very low gravity between 0.05G and 0.09G. The horizon will appear about 2km away.
Mainworld Atmosphere (A)[edit]
Ugnes has a pressure of less than 0.001 atmospheres which requires the use of a Vacc Suit. TL–8 or more advanced survival gear is required to settle this world.
- Vacuum worlds have no climate, but experience extreme differences in temperature between direct starlight and shade.
Mainworld Hydrosphere (H)[edit]
Ugnes has no free-standing water or ice on the surface. Wilderness refueling isn't possible on this world. Water for the inhabitants needs to be imported and extensively recycled. These worlds are classified Desert World or a Hell World depending on their atmosphere.
Satellites:[edit]
Ugnes is the moon of a large world.
- Its larger primary is Sengu, an exotic atmosphere fluid world.
- Sengu: UWP Y7B0000-0
Mainworld Geography and Topography[edit]
No centrally held map of the world exists within AAB Library Data records.
- Locally, detailed maps may be available.
- Verified updated charts are constantly sought.
- Detailed survey data commands premium prices.
(Placeholder chart, vacuum world.)
Native Lifeforms[edit]
No native life.
History & Background (Dossier)[edit]
Ugnes has been occupied by the Korsumug Empire.
World Starport (St)[edit]
Ugnes has a Class C Starport, an average quality installation which features amenities including unrefined fuel for starships, some brokerage services for passengers and cargo, and a variety of ship provisions. There is a shipyard capable of doing maintenance and other kinds of repair. Ports of this classification generally have only a downport, unless this is a trade port or system with an hostile environment mainworld.
World Demographics (P)[edit]
Ugnes has a population of 4 million.
Urbanization[edit]
Multiple large urban centers are surrounded by smaller satellite communities.
- The population are concentrated into a single relatively densely populated region.
- Structures and facilities are sealed.
- Much of the surface of the world remains as wilderness.
World Technology Level (T)[edit]
Ugnes possesses a Technology Level of TL–7.
- Common Communication technologies for this TL include: Early video and early satellite communication networks.
- Common Power Generation technologies for this TL include: Early fuel cells, solar energy, and geothermal power sources.
- Common Transportation technologies for this TL include:
- Land: Improved automobiles, hovercraft, and bullet trains.
- Water: Hydrofoils and early triphibians.
- Air: Hang gliders and supersonic jets.
- Space: Deep space probes and interplanetary spacecraft (System Craft).
World Government (G)[edit]
Ugnes is governed by a Feudal Technocracy. Society divides itself based on the technical requirements of the society. Each of these functions are granted as a fief to an individual or group. Leadership of these fiefs determines the head of the government.
This world is part of the Imperial Korsumug Provinces. As it is part of the Percavid Marches, Admiral Percavid (a Human quisling) is the head of state and military governor.
World Military[edit]
Approximately 10,000 personnel.
World Law (L)[edit]
Ugnes has a moderate level with laws covering many areas of government and interaction. These laws are simple enough that most people can act as their own advocate, though for serious issues a professional is recommended. Law enforcement officials will be present, but not in great numbers. Personal concealable firearms, and anything more destructive, are typically regulated or prohibited.
