Meir is a nonindustrial world, that requires extensive imports of outside technology to maintain a modern, star-faring society.
- In a technological universe, societies without industrial capability generally suffer as nearly all manufactured and high tech goods must be brought in at significant cost.
- As a nonindustrial world, it requires extensive imports of outside technology to maintain a modern, star-faring society. The need to import most manufactured and high technology goods drives the price of these goods up in the open market.
- It is a member of the Solomani Confederation in the Gamma Leonis Subsector of Neworld Sector.
- It is a mainworld which is a satellite of either a gas giant or another world.
- This is a cold world with an overall climate that is at the lower temperature range of human-congruous sophont endurance.
- It is a member of the Sycamore Arm region of the Seguranca Cluster.
Description (Astrography & Planetology)[edit]
Stellar Data[edit]
Meir is a binary star system.
- Both are red main sequence stars.

Notes[edit]
The two stars of the Meir system have an average separation of 210 AU and orbit a barycenter that lies between them.
- They have an orbital period around one another of 3,900 standard years.
System Data[edit]
The worlds of the system have been surveyed. They consist of:
- The mainworld. It is a major moon of the system's only gas giant.
- x12 secondary rocky worlds. Six orbit the primary star, six orbit the secondary star.
- x1 small gas giant, orbiting the primary star.
Mainworld Data[edit]
Meir is a major moon of a small gas giant.
The mainworld and its gas giant primary world orbit towards the outer edge of the primary star's habitable zone.
Mainworld Size (S)[edit]
Meir is a Meso World between 7,200km and 8,800km in diameter. The world has a standard gravity between 0.4G and 0.57G. The horizon will appear about 4km away.
Mainworld Atmosphere (A)[edit]
Meir has a pressure of less than 0.1 atmospheres which requires the use of a Vacc Suit. TL–8 or more advanced survival gear is required to settle this world.
- It experiences low temperatures.
Mainworld Hydrosphere (H)[edit]
Meir has no free-standing water or ice on the surface. Wilderness refueling isn't possible on this world. Water for the inhabitants needs to be imported and extensively recycled. These worlds are classified Desert World or a Hell World depending on their atmosphere.
Mainworld Geography and Topography[edit]
No centrally held map of the world exists within AAB Library Data records.
(Blank map, trace atmosphere world.)
History & Background (Dossier)[edit]
Meir is a member of the Sycamore Arm region of the Seguranca Cluster, a cluster and important trade route lying across the central-spinward part of Neworld Sector.
Solomani Security keeps a close eye on things to ensure the security of the Solomani State and the well-being of its loyal citizens. Almost anyone could be a SolSec informant, passing on all sorts of useful information: some gain a reward or benefit for their actions, others are coerced, while many see it as an act of duty to help protect the the State and its interests.
World Starport (St)[edit]
Meir has a Class D Starport, a poor quality installation which has few of the expected amenities. There is unrefined fuel for starships and a limited variety of ship provisions. There is no shipyard of any kind, but there may be parts and technical support for doing minor services and repair. Ports of this classification generally consist of only a downport, unless this is a trade port or system with an hostile environment mainworld.
World Population (P)[edit]
Meir has a population of 10,000 sophonts (tens of thousands).
- This is a Nonindustrial World, too small to support the complete chain of production of most goods from start to finish.
- The population almost entirely consists of Solomani humans.
Linguistic Topography[edit]
The most commonly heard languages are:
- Rim Anglic, a dialect of Anglic and the principal language of the Confederation.
World Technology Level (T)[edit]
Meir possesses a Technology Level of TL–7.
- Common Communication technologies for this TL include: Early video and early satellite communication networks.
- Common Power Generation technologies for this TL include: Early fuel cells, solar energy, and geothermal power sources.
- Common Transportation technologies for this TL include:
- Land: Improved automobiles, hovercraft, and bullet trains.
- Water: Hydrofoils and early triphibians.
- Air: Hang gliders and supersonic jets.
- Space: Deep space probes and interplanetary spacecraft (System Craft).
World Government (G)[edit]
Meir is governed by a Participatory Democracy where eligible voters determine laws and policy. What determines an eligible voter varies. There may be smaller councils or regional bodies to draft the policies voted upon. Leadership of the government and all members of the bureaucracy are determined by the voting population.
World Law (L)[edit]
Meir has a moderate law level with laws covering many areas of government and interaction. These laws are simple enough that most people can act as their own advocate, though for serious issues a professional is recommended. Law enforcement officials will be present, but not in great numbers. Light assault weapons, and anything more destructive, are typically regulated or prohibited.
Trade Data[edit]
- Importance: -3 (very unimportant)
World Economy[edit]
- Resources: 3 (very scarce)
- Labor: 3 (thousands)
- Infrastructure: 2 (extremely limted)
- Efficiency: +4 (advanced)
World Culture[edit]
- Heterogenity: 4 (harmonious)
- Acceptance: 1 (extremely xenophobic)
- Strangeness: 6 (very distinct)
- Symbols: 6 (somewhat concrete)
