Basic Ship Characteristics[edit]
Following the Imperial Navy and IISS Universal Ship Profile and data, additional information is presented in the format shown here. History & Background[edit]
Hias'deaaq is a merchant line operating these vesssels. Their services cover some twelve subsectors in both Gushemege and Dagudashaag though they mainly trade on the Medurma Main from Mimu to Argi. Hias'deaaq's registered homeworld is Zeda and it is the largest and most successful Ziadd-owned concern in the sector.
Much of the company’s trade is in medium to high-value cargoes such as manufactured goods. This is a deliberate marketing strategy as the board of directors is aware that they are currently too small to directly challenge Tukera Lines in the bulk cargo market. [3]
The extensive deregulation of corporate activities by Raegis Viisarikaa, and later by Karyn, has given Hias'deaaq a significant economic boost.
In the last few years the company has been undergoing an extensive scheme of modernization and re-equipping. The small fleet of 2,500 tonne Freespace Gateway-class freighters (designed by Medurma AstroTech and licensed to U'Chakzii-Ziask SIA) now form the backbone of the company. [4]
Class Naming Practice/s & Peculiarities[edit]
Vessel Peculiarities: While some have noted that the vessels have a distinctly "Aslan" look to them, the design in fact bears more similarity to the kinds of vessel used during the Vilani Imperium. The first starships that the Ziadd came into direct possession of were former First Imperium merchant ships, gifted to them by the victorious Terrans.
The Ziadd are nothing if not traditional, and over the thousands of years that the Ziadd have been spacefaring the Vilani pattern for ships has become the accepted norm for their vessels. In fact modern design companies routinely draw on traditional hull configurations when designing new vessels for Ziadd.
