Argi World has both an unbreathably very thin atmosphere and no surface water which makes habitation by sophonts difficult. The system has a population over one billion. This system serves as the capital for the subsector. This world designated as an Amber Zone. Caution is advised since the world has an environment, laws, customs, life forms, or other conditions that are not well understood and might be a danger to a visitor.  This world is a satellite of a gas giant or another planet in the system. This is a high technology world with available technology over the standards for Charted Space. It is a member of Third Imperium in the Argi Subsector of Dagudashaag Sector and in the Domain of Vland. Argi, as a member world of the Third Imperium, holds the estate of an Imperial knight and the fiefdoms of a count and the Subsector duke. All three are members of the Imperial Nobility charged with overseeing the world. The system supports both an Imperial Naval Base and a Scout Base with the additional starship traffic.

Astrography and planetology[edit]

Argi is a member of the Dagudashaag Main. The naval base hosts elements of the 159th Fleet.

History and Background[edit]

This world has been extensively colonized with vast underground city complexes (known as Pellucidar). Argi is the largest manufacturer of technical equipment within the sector.

Historical Data[edit]

The planet was originally colonized by Vilani nobles during the First Imperium and retained much of their technology during the Long Night. This evolved into the Aakhri Empire which perverted the Vilani caste system into a slave-based republic.

The Empire used its technology to enslave much of Argi and Sapphyre subsectors. Over the centuries they became dependent on their slaves for every aspect of their life, including military service. At the time of their collapse the planetary population of Argi was composed mainly of slaves ruled over by a small, decadent master class. The revolt when it occurred was quick and bloody. The surviving Aakhri families were forbidden to ever again hold property or position.

Most Argians are descendants of the freed slaves and the few remaining Aakhrians are only to be found in menial positions or acting as "Servicians" -- prostitutes. Aakhrians can only leave Argi if they supply a MCr1 bond to "re-pay" the Argian people for their historical suffering. Most Argians (except Aakhrians) wear silver torcs encoded with their clan, occupation and status using an eight band colour code, as a reminder of their origins.

World Starport (St)[edit]

Argi has a Class A Starport, an excellent quality installation which includes all the expected amenities including refined fuel for starships, brokerage services for passengers and cargo, and a variety of ship provisions. There is a shipyard capable of doing annual maintenance, overhauls and other kinds of repair, and construction of both starships and non-starships. Most ports of this classification have both a Highport and a Downport.

World Population (P)[edit]

Argi has a population of 90,000,000,000 sophonts (tens of billions).

World Languages[edit]

World Technology Level (T)[edit]

Argi possesses a Technology Level of TL–15 or TL-F in Hexadecimal Notation.

World Government (G)[edit]

Argi is governed by a Charismatic Oligarchy, like a charismatic dictatorship in that a larger group has asserted their right to rule. The group will have better rules of succession and may last longer or may transition to a non-charismatic dictatorship.

World Law (L)[edit]

Argi has an extreme law level which covers every area of interaction. Laws are complex, detailed, and difficult to understand. Every interaction with the government requires an Advocate. Law enforcement is omnipresent and strict. Legal proceeding can take months to years to resolve and may involve dozens of people. A world with this law level may be an Amber Zone or a Red Zone. All objects specifically manufactured as weapons are typically regulated or prohibited (with no exception for private residences; visiting starships are only protected so long as they stay within designated starports and approach corridors). Civilian movement is rigidly controlled. Travel documents are frequently checked. There is no legal concept of privacy (save for those who can claim necessity for official government business). The police are free to inspect anyone and anything at any time.
