Description (Astrography & Planetology)[edit]

Notes[edit]
The two stars of the Broucken system have an average separation of 125 AU and orbit a barycenter that lies between them.
- They have an orbital period around one another of approximately 1,200 standard years.
System Data[edit]
The worlds of the system have been surveyed. They consist of:
- The mainworld, orbiting the primary star.
- x10 secondary rocky worlds. Five orbit the primary star, five orbit the secondary star.
- x2 planetoid belts. One orbits the primary star, two orbit the secondary star.
- x3 gas giants. Two orbit the primary star, one orbits the secondary star.
Mainworld Data[edit]
Broucken orbits towards the inner edge of the primary star's habitable zone.
Mainworld Size (S)[edit]
Broucken is a Meso World between 8,800km and 10,400km in diameter. The world has a standard gravity between 0.6G and 0.8G. The horizon will appear about 4.4km away.
Mainworld Atmosphere (A)[edit]
Broucken has a pressure of 0.43 to 0.70 atmospheres. The Thin Atmosphere does not require survival gear although it may be hard on sophonts not accustomed to it.
- It experiences relatively high temperatures.
Mainworld Hydrosphere (H)[edit]
Broucken has 35-45% of its surface covered by liquid water. There will be a number of small seas or one larger body of water. Wilderness refueling is possible.
Mainworld Geography and Topography[edit]
No centrally held map of the world exists within AAB Library Data records.
(Blank map, predominantly dry world.)
History & Background (Dossier)[edit]
Broucken is a member of the Dienbach Cluster, a small cluster and minor trade route lying in the rimward-trailing quadrant of Neworld Sector.
Solomani Security keeps as close an eye as it can on things to ensure the security of the Confederation and the well-being of its loyal citizens. Almost anyone could be a SolSec informant, passing on all sorts of useful information: some gain a reward or benefit for their actions, others are coerced, but a few see it as an act of duty to help protect the Solomani state and its interests.
- Dienabach Grüpen agents closely monitor SolSec activity and counter its moves, if necessary.
World Starport (St)[edit]
Broucken has a Class B Starport, a good quality installation which includes all the expected amenities including refined fuel for starships, brokerage services for passengers and cargo, and a variety of ship provisions. There is a shipyard capable of doing annual maintenance, overhauls and most kinds of repair, and construction of non-starships. Most ports of this classification have both a Highport and a Downport.
World Population (P)[edit]
Broucken has a population of 30,000,000,000 sophonts (tens of billions).
- High Population Worlds like this tend to have huge consumer markets.
- The population almost entirely consists of humans of Solomani descent.
Linguistic Topography[edit]
The most commonly heard languages are:
- Germanic, a Terran language spoken throughout Solomani space.
- Rim Anglic, a dialect of Anglic and the principal language of the Confederation.
- It is a second language within the Grüpen.
World Technology Level (T)[edit]
Broucken possesses a Technology Level of TL–12 or TL-C in Hexadecimal Notation.
- Common Communication technologies for this TL include: Holovision, Personal Global Communications, and advanced Translators.
- Common Power Generation technologies for this TL include: Increasingly advanced fusion plants and advanced fuel cells.
- Common Transportation technologies for this TL include:
- Land, Water & Air: Personal G-Tubes and advanced gravcraft.
- Space: Advanced interplanetary spacecraft (System Craft).
- FTL: Jump Drive-3.
World Government (G)[edit]
Broucken has a Captive Government or Colony. The world is ruled by an external government, there is no self-rule. This is a colony or conquered area. The local government is an oligarchy appointed by, and answerable only to, the external government.
It is directly administered by the authorities on Dienbach.
World Law (L)[edit]
Broucken has a moderate law level with laws covering many areas of government and interaction. These laws are simple enough that most people can act as their own advocate, though for serious issues a professional is recommended. Law enforcement officials will be present, but not in great numbers. All firearms, and anything more destructive, are typically regulated or prohibited.
