World Starport[edit]

Albarino has a Class A Starport, an excellent quality installation which includes all the expected amenities including refined fuel for starships, brokerage services for passengers and cargo, and a variety of ship provisions. There is a shipyard capable of doing annual maintenance, overhauls and other kinds of repair, and construction of both starships and non-starships. Most ports of this classification have both a Highport and a Downport.

The dedicated startown is named Promise, and is connected to the downport by both high-speed rail and several heavy-duty rail systems. These systems connect to the major urban centers and industrial sites.

The highport is of excellent Solomani quality. There is considerable excess capacity here, even with frequent heavy lift craft delivering surface cargos.

World Technology Level[edit]

Albarino possesses a Technology Level of TL–12 or TL-C in Hexadecimal Notation.

World Government[edit]

Albarino has a Balkanized Government. There is no central world government. The world has several governments competing for control of the world. These may be allies, cooperating, competitors, or at war with each other.

World Law Level[edit]

Albarino has a moderate level with laws covering many areas of government and interaction. These laws are simple enough that most people can act as their own advocate, though for serious issues a professional is recommended. Law enforcement officials will be present, but not in great numbers. Personal concealable firearms, and anything more destructive, are typically regulated or prohibited.

World Military[edit]

Each industrial state has its own security forces, but none are equipped to seize and hold territory.

World Economy[edit]

Albarino cities are generally located in the hilly regions around the plain that contains the downport and the dedicated startown, Promise. These cities are close to water supplies and various mining operations. Local industry focuses on chemical engineering and material science. The relatively high technological level of this world ensures that society remains comfortable and civilized.
