Astrographic Features & Trade Routes

The following astrographic features and trade routes can be found within this area:

Stellar Distribution

A basic map showing the distribution and size of stars within Aglaea Subsector.

  • The color corresponds to the visible color of the star, which links to its spectral classification.
  • The size as shown indicates both the physical size of the object and its relative brightness.

(Chart sourced from Traveller Map)

Note that the stars as depicted are representative. Any star, no matter what its size, is a mere speck within the hex it occupies.

  • Ordinary main sequence stars can barely be seen from even a hex away.
  • Huge, intensely luminous giant stars can be seen from across the subsector and far beyond.

Rift Regions

The subsector contains two rift regions:

(Chart sourced from Traveller Map)

Locally at least, a rift is an astrographic and commercial concept based on Jump Drive performance.

  • Most commercial vessels typically use Jump Drives capable of Jump-3 or less.
  • Areas that cannot be crossed by Jump-3-capable vessels are denoted as rifts.
  • Rifts represent a considerable obstacle to interstellar trade and commerce.

World Listing

The following systems and worlds can be found within this area:

Subsector Summary

Aglaea, subsector I of Canopus, contains 22 worlds with an estimated combined population of 10 billion, a per capita income of Cr9,353, and a total economy of BCr93,853. These worlds originate an interstellar trade of BCr320 through 12 starports (2 Class A, 3 Class B, 4 Class C, 3 Class D) employing 97,185 people. Driving this interstellar trade are two Agricultural (Ag) worlds, one Non-Agricultural (Na) world, two Pre-Agricultural (Pa) worlds, no Pre-Industrial (Pi) worlds, three Rich (Ri) worlds, and no Industrial (In) worlds. The governments in Aglaea maintain five Naval bases and four Military bases. The average technology level is 6 (with most between 2 and 9). The highest technology level is 14 at Givatayim (Canopus 0222).

Aglaea, subsector I of Canopus, contains 33 stars and 258 identified planets; 12 monostellar systems, nine binary systems, one trinary system, and no systems with four or more stars. 20 of the 22 systems (90%) have native gas giants. There are no Asteroid (As) belts, no Desert (De) worlds, one Garden (Ga) world, two Ice-capped (Ic) worlds, no Poor (Po) worlds, nine Vacuum (Va) worlds, and two Water (Wa) or Ocean (Oc) worlds.

Aglaea has an estimated population of 10 billion distributed across one High population (Hi) world, no Moderate population (Ph) worlds, nine Non-industrial (Ni) worlds, six Low population (Lo) worlds, and four Barren (Ba) worlds. The highest population world is Givatayim (Canopus 0222). The population consists of 3 sophont groups including one native sophont.

Solomani Confederation

The Solomani Confederation has jurisdiction over 19 worlds in the subsector with an estimated combined population of 10 billion, a per capita income of Cr9,353, and a total economy of BCr93,853. These worlds originate an interstellar trade of BCr306 through 10 starports (2 Class A, 3 Class B, 2 Class C, 3 Class D) employing 95,280 people. The governments in the Solomani Confederation maintain four Naval bases and four Military bases within the subsector. The average technology level is 6 (with most between 2 and 9). The highest technology level is 14 at Givatayim (Canopus 0222).

The Solomani Confederation has an estimated population of 10 billion within the subsector, distributed across one High population (Hi) world, no Moderate population (Ph) worlds, seven Non-industrial (Ni) worlds, five Low population (Lo) worlds, and four Barren (Ba) worlds. The highest population world is Givatayim (Canopus 0222). The population consists of 3 sophont groups including one native sophont.

Non-Aligned, Human-dominated

There are three Non-Aligned Human-dominated worlds in Aglaea with an estimated combined population of less than 1 million.
