• It is a Non-Aligned world dominated by human sophonts located in the Trita Subsector of Canopus Sector.

• It is a balmy tropical world, with a climate of high temperatures.
• This is a "low technology" world with technology competencies well below standard for Charted Space.

Olinda has a pressure of 1.50 to 2.49 atmospheres. While a Dense Atmosphere requires no survival gear this atmosphere also contains an unusual taint such as disease, a hazardous gas mix, pollutants, or sulfur compounds which requires the use of a Filter Mask. Some taints may require more protective equipment. TL–3 or more advanced survival gear is required to settle this world.

• It experiences relatively high temperatures.
• Greenhouse gases in the atmosphere help to push up the world's surface temperatures.

Olinda has 65-75% of its surface covered by liquid water. It has significant large liquid bodies. Wilderness refueling is possible.

Olinda is a member of (and the namesake of) the Olinda Trace, a small Cluster and minor trade route lying in the central-rimward part of Canopus Sector.

Solomani Security keeps a close eye on things to ensure the security of the Solomani State and the well-being of its loyal citizens. Almost anyone could be a SolSec informant, passing on all sorts of useful information: some gain a reward or benefit for their actions, others are coerced, while a few see it as an act of duty to help protect the the State and its interests.

World Starport (St)

Olinda has a Class C Starport, an average quality installation which features amenities including unrefined fuel for starships, some brokerage services for passengers and cargo, and a variety of ship provisions. There is a shipyard capable of doing maintenance and other kinds of repair. Ports of this classification generally have only a downport, unless this is a trade port or system with an hostile environment mainworld.

Olinda has a population of 2,000,000 sophonts (millions).

• This is a Nonindustrial World, too small to support the complete chain of production of most goods from start to finish.
• About 95% of the population (roughly 1.9 million individuals) consists of Solomani humans.
• Around 5% of the population (approximately 100,000 individuals) is made up of Aslan.
