Kaasam, subsector L of Mendan, contains 38 worlds with an estimated combined population of 21 billion, a per capita income of Cr5,093, and a total economy of BCr109,760. These worlds originate an interstellar trade of BCr2,765 through 37 starports (8 Class A, 13 Class B, 16 Class C, 0 Class D) employing 384,115 people. Driving this interstellar trade are seven Agricultural (Ag) worlds, eight Non-Agricultural (Na) worlds, three Pre-Agricultural (Pa) worlds, ten Pre-Industrial (Pi) worlds, one Rich (Ri) world, and one Industrial (In) world. The governments in Kaasam maintain 15 Military bases and two Naval bases. The average technology level is 8 (with most between 6 and 11). The highest technology level is 14 at Airus (Mendan 2922).

Kaasam, subsector L of Mendan, contains 55 stars and 415 identified planets; 22 monostellar systems, 15 binary systems, one trinary system, and no systems with four or more stars. 29 of the 38 systems (76%) have native gas giants. There are no Asteroid (As) belts, three Desert (De) worlds, two Garden (Ga) worlds, one Ice-capped (Ic) world, ten Poor (Po) worlds, three Vacuum (Va) worlds, and one Water (Wa) or Ocean (Oc) world.

Kaasam has an estimated population of 21 billion distributed across four High population (Hi) worlds, four Moderate population (Ph) worlds, 12 Non-industrial (Ni) worlds, seven Low population (Lo) worlds, and one Barren (Ba) world. The highest population world is Nenkun (Mendan 2624). The population consists primarily of 2 sophont groups.
