General Description

The Unleashed class is a combat vessel with 5-G and J-3 performance. It has a heavily armored hull and carries a mixture of weaponry, and is more than able to hold its own in a firefight. The design is fully streamlined, giving good atmospheric performance and enabling it to perform surface landings.

The hull is fully streamlined and is capable of wilderness refueling: its atmospheric handling characteristics are improved by airfoil surfaces and its onboard gravitic systems. Individual sections of the ship are divided by bulkhead walls. The vessel has two main personnel airlocks. The subcraft hangar may be used as an additional airlock. The vessel has sturdy retractable legs, allowing surface landings.
2.	Crew	x34 personnel. x6 command, x3 engineering, x8 gunnery, x2 flight, x2 service, x13 marines. The command crew consists of the Captain, the Executive Officer, an electronics officer (commo/sensor ops), two pilot/navigators, and a medical officer. Each crew section has a senior officer. Accommodations There are 21 Staterooms. Staterooms are configured to what the Jaibok consider to be comfort. All Staterooms are given over to the crew. 8 are single occupancy and are set aside for selected command personnel and the marine officer: the remaining 13 are double occupancy. Accessible areas of the hull are fitted with grav plates and inertial compensators and have full life support and environmental systems. There are internal monitoring and security systems throughout the vessel. Individual sections of the hull can be sealed off. There are multiple emergency lockers.
3.	Performance	The vessel mounts a Jump-3 drive, a Maneuver-5 drive, and a fusion Power Plant-5, giving performance of Jump-3 and 5-G acceleration. The ship has an agility rating of 3 and an emergency agility of 5. The internal fuel tankage is sufficient for one Jump-2 and gives the power plant 4 weeks duration. The engineering section has a main control room. The jump drive utilizes a hull grid. The jump drive is fitted with a jump governor.
4.	Electronics	Adjacent to the bridge is a Model/4 fib computer. A backup Model/4 fib is installed in engineering. There are multiple workstations and control points throughout the vessel. The vessel is fitted with communications equipment, a standard sensor array, and has an avionics suite. It is equipped with a sophisticated ECM package and Jamming Equipment. It has a transponder unit that can be deactivated on command.
5.	Hardpoints	x9 hardpoints. The listed weapons systems are typical for the class.
6.	Armament	The normal weapons fit-out for a Unleashed class is: x4 triple Missile turrets, grouped into two batteries of 2 linked turrets. Each launcher mounts standard Anti-Shipping Missiles. x4 triple Beam Laser turrets, grouped into two batteries of 2 linked turrets.
7.	Defenses	The hull is heavily plated, braced and structurally reinforced. It has an armor rating of 6. x1 triple Sandcaster turret, forming its own battery. The vessel is not fitted with screens or other passive defensive systems.
8.	Craft	Flight Section: x1 10-dTon KU1a Fetch class Launch. Vehicles: x1 9-dTon Jaibok class Gcarrier. The two subcraft are housed in a dedicated hanger: the hanger can be sealed and has a total volume of 19 dTons.
9.	Fuel Treatment	The vessel has internal fuel tankage of 315 Tons. The hull is fitted with fuel scoops. The vessel is equipped with a fuel purification plant and is able to refine all onboard fuel in a few hours.
10.	Cost	The basic cost of the vessel is MCr936.188 Architects Fee: MCr9.362 If multiple examples of the design are ordered all vessels in the production run qualify for a 20% discount, which reduces the price per unit to MCr748.951 The price does not include the cost of the subcraft: x1 Fetch class Launch costs MCr6.16 (discounts apply on bulk orders, reducing the cost to MCr4.928). x1 Jaibok class Gcarrier costs MCr3.375 (no discounts apply). With a full complement of subcraft, a discounted Unleashed class costs MCr757.254
11.	Construction Time	112 weeks as standard, 90 weeks in bulk. Build times can be reduced by mass production and the efficiencies such processes generate, by increased financing, and by allotting additional yard resources and facilities to the construction contract.
12.	Comments	Standard cargo capacity amounts to 20 dTons. The hold has independent life support and environmental systems. It can be sealed and isolated.

History & Background (Dossier)

The Unleashed class corvette is an ubiquitous type of warship used by the Korsumug Empire, typically serving as a major component in a patrol force or as the core element of a raiding group. Early low-jump examples of the class served on the Korsumug Main, where they saw frequent active service.

The type was designed by the Jansa, a minor race closely allied with the Jaibok.

A number of redesigns with more powerful J-Drives were fielded as the Korsumug Empire began to venture to worlds further from the Main. This ultimately resulted in the KE9c variant, equipped with a Jump-3 drive, though at the expense of a reduced maneuver rating compared to earlier versions.

Examples of the Unleashed class can be encountered throughout Mavuzog Sector and Theta Borealis Sector.

Class Naming Practice/s & Peculiarities

Vessel Peculiarities:
The design is well rounded and capable of independent operations.

• Unleashed class vessels frequently operate as raiders.

Physiologically, neither Jaibok nor Jansa cope well with low berths and they are not routinely fitted to Korsumug vessels.

• Earlier variants of the class were fitted with low berths in order to transport prisoners, a feature that has been removed as internal space issues have become more pressing.

Class Naming Practice/s:
Vessels of the Korsumug Empire are given alphanumeric designations and callsigns by other interstellar states. KE refers to Korsumug Empire (a designation applied to all Korsumug combat units), 9 is a multiple of hundreds of tons of displacement and also indicates at a glance the number of weapons mounts, and 'c' refers to the version of the vessel, relating to its construction tech level and bracketing its maximum jump potential. Type codes will often repeat: 'Unleashed' is an easy to remember name to identify the specific type of vessel.

• Individual vessels are generally named by their crews.
