Hecatomb is a poor, barren desert world with no overt population, government, or law level.
- This world has no free-standing water.
- This world could be populated if anyone had an inclination to do so...
- It is a member of the Solomani Confederation in the Rangiriri Subsector of Canopus Sector.
- It orbits the system's secondary star.
- This world is a "Twilight Zone World", a planet that is tidally-locked to its star. It has a hot side that permanently faces the star, a cold side that permanently faces away, and a narrow twilight zone in-between.
- This is a "forbidden" world designated as a Red Zone with an environment, laws, customs, life forms, or other conditions that make it extremely dangerous to visitors. Everyone is forbidden to travel here.
- It is a member of the Ariette-Biton Cluster.
Description (Astrography & Planetology)[edit]

Notes[edit]
The two stars of the Hecatomb system have an average separation of 75 AU and orbit a barycenter that lies between them.
- They have an orbital period around one another of 650 standard years.
System Data[edit]
The worlds of the system have been surveyed. They consist of:
- The mainworld, orbiting the secondary star.
- x8 secondary rocky worlds. Five orbit the primary star, three orbit the secondary star.
- x2 gas giants. One orbits the primary star, one orbits the secondary star.
Mainworld Data[edit]
Hecatomb is tidally locked to the system's secondary star.
- The star is always high in the sky on the bright face, it hangs on horizon in the twilight zone, while the cold dark face is in permanent darkness.
- The world experiences libration - a regular wobble - as it orbits, causing the star to move in the sky.
Mainworld Size (S)[edit]
Hecatomb is a Meso World between 7,200km and 8,800km in diameter. The world has a standard gravity between 0.4G and 0.57G. The horizon will appear about 4km away.
Mainworld Atmosphere (A)[edit]
Hecatomb has a pressure of 0.10 to 0.42 atmospheres. The very thin pressures require a respirator or Oxygen Mask. TL–5 or more advanced survival gear is required to settle this world.
Mainworld Hydrosphere (H)[edit]
Hecatomb has no free-standing water or ice on the surface. Wilderness refueling isn't possible on this world. Water for the inhabitants needs to be imported and extensively recycled. These worlds are classified Desert World or a Hell World depending on their atmosphere.
Mainworld Geography and Topography[edit]
No centrally held map of the world exists within AAB Library Data records.
(Blank map, predominantly dry world.)
History & Background (Dossier)[edit]
Hecatomb is a Forbidden World and is designated as a Red Zone. It presents serious risks and dangers due to the environment or native life forms, laws or customs, or other conditions that make it extremely dangerous to visitors.
- Travel to this world is prohibited.
It is a member of the Ariette-Biton Cluster, a cluster and trade route lying within the coreward-trailing quadrant of Canopus Sector.
Solomani Security keeps a close eye on things to ensure the security of the Confederation and the well-being of its loyal citizens.
World Starport (St)[edit]
Hecatomb does not have a starport. The Class X Starport is an indication that no starport exists in the system. There are no facilities or services available, and no site marked for landing.
World Population (P)[edit]
Hecatomb is a Barren World with no sophont population. It may still possess lifeforms.
World Technology Level (T)[edit]
Hecatomb possesses a Tech Level of TL–0.
- The world has no technological base.
World Government (G)[edit]
Hecatomb has no government or ruling authority of any kind.
World Law (L)[edit]
Hecatomb has no law level. No laws of any kind are enforced.
