Mainworld Data[edit]

Cybele is a standard-size world with a thin atmosphere.

Mainworld Geography & Topography[edit]

The surface of Cybele is covered by a world ocean, with a single continental landmass and plethora of archipelagoes. The continent has 3 clearly visible impact craters.

World Starport[edit]

Cybele has a Class D Starport, a poor quality installation which has few of the expected amenities. There is unrefined fuel for starships and a limited variety of ship provisions. There is no shipyard of any kind, but there may be parts and technical support for doing minor services and repair. Ports of this classification generally consist of only a downport, unless this is a trade port or system with an hostile environment mainworld.

Cybele downport is located inland from the Capitol on what was an isolated, dry plateau. Recently, a steam locomotive track has been laid to the basic Confederation downport.

A Travellers Aid Society (TAS) hostel exists within the downport. Travellers are encouraged to check in and receive the latest updates on local conditions.

World Technology Level[edit]

Cybele possesses a Technology Level of TL–6.

World Government[edit]

Cybele is governed by a Charismatic Dictatorship. Charismatic governments justify their ability to rule by simply asserting their right to rule. Charismatic dictatorships are young governments, coming as a recent change and rely on the leader(s) to supply head of government.

The head of Cybelean state is King Reggion II, formerly Prince Regus. He was a much anticipated King, as his father considered foolish, wasteful, and often cruel. Thus far, the new King has indeed outdone his father, and has ordered his government effectively.

World Law Level[edit]

Cybele has a moderate level with laws covering many areas of government and interaction. These laws are simple enough that most people can act as their own advocate, though for serious issues a professional is recommended. Law enforcement officials will be present, but not in great numbers. All firearms except shotguns, and anything more destructive, are typically regulated or prohibited.

World Military[edit]

The Royal Protectors are a moderately-size force, armed with ornately carved automatic rifles, revolvers, and often seen wearing half-plate armor. They are most often used to address riots, insurrection, and natural disasters. They are also useful for filling out parade routes.

The Royal Bodyguard is a smaller force, but they have been equipped with off-world automatic pistols firing standard ammunition, advanced-alloy swords, laser carbines, and ballistic cloth armor.

This military force uses motorized vehicles for troop deployments, and uses a mixture of rigid-frame dirigibles, propeller-driven, and jet-powered aircraft according to mission. No heavy armor and only limited artillery seems to be present.

World Economy[edit]

Cybele has a fully developed, if low-tech, world economy. There is a focus on agriculture and aquaculture, as the large population has nearly reached the point where it cannot feed itself. Nuclear fission reactors are a new development for this civilization, and the government is fully funding a wide-spread rollout of the technology. Electricity is common in the cities, and their is a booming trade in electrical devices for the home and office. Telephones or "hand-tubes" are common in the modern buildings, but are only available in the older building at a substantial cost to retrofit.

Contact seems to have initiated a great deal of innovation.

World Demographics[edit]

Population:

Humaniti 100%

Note: the Cybelean humans are adapted to breathing this thin atmosphere. They are likely to be able to adapt to standard pressures, but dense atmospheres may require them to use respirators.

World Culture[edit]

No information yet available.

World Language/s[edit]

Cybelean, Anglic (school-taught).

Urbanization[edit]

Most cities are found on the coastlines or in the mountain valleys where water is plentiful. Older structures are being rapidly replaced with Tech-6/7 structures that support indoor water, sewage, toilets, and electrical power; the older structures that depend on cesspits, lamps, fireplaces, and wells still exist and are easily located.
