Description (Specifications)[edit]
The Aslan Hierate Kyatulyare Vassal is an isolated element of the Aslan Hierate located in the coreward-trailing part of Iphigenia Sector.
- It was founded by Aslan Ihatei who had migrated from rimward, many from deep within the interior of the Hierate.
- Settlement began in the 1060s.
- The majority of its population are Aslan, either immigrants or born locally.

Government & Politics[edit]
The principal Clans involved in the Vassal are the Seieakh and the Aokhalte.
- They are often at odds with one another.

- Importance shown in green.
The economy of the Vassal is not in good shape. Fundamentally, after nearly half a century, it is still nowhere close to being self-sufficient.
The leading Clans seem almost to have lost interest, and there is a palpable sense of abandonment.
Administration[edit]
There is a disastrously bad ratio of males to females within Vassal society.
- With a lack of females to act as go-betweens, to defuse situations, and to provide reasoned solutions, otherwise petty issues frequently become major problems.
- There is constant infighting and squabbling among rival males.
As a rule, the Vassal is lacking administrators, overseers, and managers of all kinds.
- Efficiency is uniformly bad and many facilities, though relatively new, are in decline or inoperable.
- Logistics within the Vassal are poor at best. The Vassal's enemies frequently target infrastructure to further increase issues.
There are constant shortages of supplies and essential materials, and there is an unspoken sense that everything is going to pieces.
The Vassal has very little intrinsic shipbuilding capability. It is almost entirely reliant on imported vessels.
- It lacks adequate dedicated maintenance facilities for large military vessels.
- Those facilities it has are very close to the hostile Altarean Confederation.
- After five decades, it still has no functioning communications network, the only major region of the Hierate that doesn't.
Immigration[edit]
The constant influx of idealistic young Aslan males increases pressure on the already overstretched infrastructure.
- Immigrants often have arrogant "Old Hierate" attitudes and unrealistic expectations.
- Their presence often serves to inflame tensions.
Some of the more concerning quotes regarding the Vassal have included:
- It is shockingly common to see Aslan reduced to begging, petty pilfering, and theft, simply to survive.
- It is a tragedy to see a once proud warrior race forced to exist in such primitive squalor.
- The place where honor goes to die.
Diplomacy[edit]
The Vassal are in a constant state of undeclared war with the Altarean Confederation, with engagements occurring in systems along the rimward edge of Vanguard Reaches Sector.
- The Vassal has more sheer manpower, but the Confederation consistently fields more powerful, more survivable ships.
- The Confederation can replace their ship losses.
- The majority of the Vassal's assets are deployed against the Confederation.
- Idealistic Aslan occasionally acquire a ship and set out to win honor and glory.
- Confederation raiders occasionally attack worlds within the Vassal.
The Vassal is facing off against the Regency of Muirimi within the center of Iphigenaia Sector. The Vassal puts on a display of strength (by aggressively patrolling in Warzone Subsector), but it is a hollow threat.
- The Muirimi apparently don't realise the relative weakness of the Kyatulyare Vassal.
- They seem to believe the Vassal receives a ceaseless stream of new, cutting edge ships and equipment from the Hierate.
Every Vassal ship lost is an irreplaceable asset gone. The pool of available vessels is dwindling as maintenance schedules are missed or battle damage is not properly repaired.
Humans[edit]
Human immigrants make up around 30% – a significant percentage – of the Kyatulyare Vassal's population. Many hold key managerial or organisational roles, or, more significantly, function in roles that would normally be reserved for Aslan females.
The vast majority were born on worlds under Aslan rule and have lived their entire lives as a happy and integrated part of Aslan society. However, not all of them are there by choice.
- Many Aslan, particularly those newly arrived in the area from the Hierate's interior, regard humans as second class citizens and treat them accordingly.
- There is considerable dissent (and occasionally even uprisings) among elements among the Vassal's domestic human population.
Outside powers such as the Regency of Muirimi send infiltrators to sabotage facilities, sow unrest among human populations, foment uprisings, and generally destabilize the state.
Demographics[edit]
Significant populations of the following races (sophont species) reside within this polity:
- Major Races
- Aslan: 7.271 billion.
- Humaniti (Human Races)
- Varied origins: 3.209 billion.
- At least 50% were born within the Vassal.
- A significant percentage are not there voluntarily, typically being transported to the vassal to work in order to repay an honor-debt.
- Some worlds hold human prisoners of war, captured in raids against neighboring states.
- Zhodani: a few hundred far-flung envoys, traders, and merchants.
- Varied origins: 3.209 billion.
- Non-Human Races
- Chirpers of Alriyhkauwa: 90 million.
The total population of Kyatulyare Vassal is estimated to be 10.57 billion Sophonts.
- Aslan make up 69% of the population.
- Humans make up just over 30% of the population.
- Various non-human races - principally Chirpers - make up almost 1% of the population.
History & Background (Dossier)[edit]
Aslan scouts and pioneers began moving through the region in increasing numbers from the 1000s onwards.
- By the 1050s those expeditions had located an area suitable for immediate settlement.
- By the 1060s the vassal territory was extant.
The number of young landless males moving into the territory in search of personal advancement and honor has been exponential.
Linguistic Topography[edit]
- Trokh, the principal interstellar language of the Aslan.
- Limited use of Riftian Anglic.
- Limited use of Naiurdu.
Worlds & Sectors (Astrography)[edit]
This polity can be primarily found in the following areas:

Capital[edit]
No capital has ever been decided upon. Saokhawase, a tropical water world located in the center of the Vassal, serves as neutral ground where parties may meet and topics can be discussed.
World Listing[edit]
Comprehensive Second Survey data for all member worlds of the Kyatulyare Vassal is available.
- The primary source material for all data is Traveller Map.
- Other sources may differ: some elements of the data may be contradictory or incorrect.
- Data is occasionally updated as new information becomes available.
- Scouting missions gathering reliable, verified data can receive substantial payment.
AAB library archives contain expanded data about the following systems:

Note that some Second Survey data, though only 40 years old, may already be out of date.
- Verified updated data is constantly sought.
