Khtaalraw is an agricultural, nonindustrial, pre-rich world with a growing agro-economy, but still lacks an adequate population to expand its economy to a rich status.

• As an agricultural world, this world is a near-ideal environment for producing quality foodstuffs of plant, animal, and other forms. Quality foodstuffs are a major export commodity for this world.
• It requires extensive imports of outside technology to maintain a modern, star-faring society. Having to import most manufactured and high tech goods drives the price up for these items at this world.
• This world has promising economic future although it needs to recruit a larger labor force in order to achieve the desired prosperity.
• It is a member of the Aslan Hierate Kyatulyare Vassal in the Keflin Subsector of Iphigenaia Sector.

• This is a temperate world, with a climate of pleasant, average temperatures, considered to be an ideal or near-ideal environment by many different sophont species.
• This world contains an Aslan Clan Base, which may combine the features of an army base for ground forces, a scout base, or even a naval base for starships.

Mainworld Atmosphere (A)

Khtaalraw has a pressure of 1.50 to 2.49 atmospheres. A Dense Atmosphere requires no survival gear although it may be hard on sophonts not accustomed to it.

• It experiences moderate temperatures.

Mainworld Hydrosphere (H)

Khtaalraw has 35-45% of its surface covered by liquid water. There will be a number of small seas or one larger body of water. Wilderness refueling is possible.

• The continental interiors are arid, hostile environments.

Khtaalraw does not retain any natural satellites.

Khtaalraw is a failing colony with very little infrastructure and poor living conditions.

• The world has been settled by Ihatei Aslan, moving to spinward along the edge of the Great Rift in search of new territories.
• The resources of the system are gradually being exploited.

A few organizations and private interests are active within the system.

• Commercial traffic is relatively frequent: ships occasionally arrive and depart.
• Commo is filled with signals and private chatter. Communications are in Trokh.
• A number of commercial navigation beacons will be active.
• A few vessels may be operating among the other worlds and moons that make up the system.
• Exploratory or survey vessels may be active in the system.

Aslan settlement began during the 1060s.

• It is a member of the Aslan Hierate Kyatulyare Vassal.
• The world falls under the broad purview of the Seieakh and Aokhalte clans.
• Prior to settlement, Khtaalraw was a barren world.
• Construction is ongoing in many areas.

World Starport (St)

Khtaalraw has a Class D Starport, a poor quality installation which has few of the expected amenities. There is unrefined fuel for starships and a limited variety of ship provisions. There is no shipyard of any kind, but there may be parts and technical support for doing minor services and repair. Ports of this classification generally consist of only a downport, unless this is a trade port or system with an hostile environment mainworld.

Khtaalraw has a population of 900,000 sophonts (hundreds of thousands).

• This is a Nonindustrial World, too small to support the complete chain of production of most goods from start to finish.
• The population almost entirely consists of Aslan.
• A few humans and other sophonts may be encountered.

Urbanization

A few large urban centers are surrounded by smaller satellite communities.

• Inhabited areas are dotted across the world.
• Much of the surface of the world remains as wilderness.

All buildings are constructed in the distinctive curved style of the Aslan.

• The oldest structures on the world are no more than 50 years old.

Khtaalraw possesses a Technology Level of TL–6.

• Common Power Generation technologies for this TL include: Early fission power generation, advanced water and wind generation of electricity.
