Starships are designed with the Classic Traveller format, using High Guard Shipyard v1.13 written by Andrea Vallance. |
The Henrick Krueden class Scout/Courier is a Scout.
- It is a paramilitary ship and a Courier.
Description (Specifications)
Construction: The Henrick Krueden class is produced using a lifting body hull and has decent atmospheric performance. It is capable of surface landings and has a wheeled undercarriage. Around half the interior space is given over to machinery and a quarter to fuel tankage. Sections of the hull are divided by bulkhead walls.
- The vessel is a TL-9 design.
Within the hull there is one narrow deck, running from the forward part of the vessel to the center of the ship. The turret is accessed from the engineering control room. The vessel has two airlocks: one close to the bridge and computer and one located ventrally, giving access to the drive compartment. While the bridge takes up a fifth of the interior space, the majority is occupied by powerful sensor systems, commo gear and an avionics suite: crew space is limited to the connecting corridor, a pair of acceleration couches, and a number of access spaces.

General Description & Deck Plans
Around 50% of the hull is taken up with machinery, including the drives, the bulky purification plant, the powerful computer and the turret. Around 26% is occupied by the fuel tanks, while the remainder is occupied by the bridge and its electronics and a single stateroom divided into two separate cabins.
Basic Ship Characteristics
Following the Imperial Navy and IISS Universal Ship Profile and data, additional information is presented in the format shown here. The small craft factor indicates the number of squadrons (...of ten subcraft) carried on the ship. Tonnage on the universal ship profile is shown in kilotons (...thousands of tons) where necessary. History & Background (Dossier)
The class of vessel sees service with the Nist Military Forces.
Class Naming Practice/s & Peculiarities
Vessel Peculiarities: While the vessel has excellent fuel endurance, very little consideration is given to crew comfort. Space aboard the vessel is extremely limited (restricted to the bridge acceleration couches, the cramped crew quarters, airlocks and various access spaces, the turret interior, and the control room within the drive compartment).
- It is normal practice for the crew to "hotbunk" in one cabin, while turning the other over to service as an office, galley, and supply store.
Class Naming Practice/s: The class are named for historical figures originating on Nist: Henrick Krueden was the founder and first commander of an elite reconnaissance unit during the Scybrian Wars.
