Usyupkut is an agricultural, nonindustrial, pre-rich garden world with a near-ideal, utopian environment conducive to most sophonts, but still lacks an adequate population to expand its economy to a rich status.

• As an agricultural world, this world is a near-ideal environment for producing quality foodstuffs of plant, animal, and other forms. Quality foodstuffs are a major export commodity for this world.
• It requires extensive imports of outside technology to maintain a modern, star-faring society. Having to import most manufactured and high tech goods drives the price up for these items at this world.
• Its economy and population are rapidly growing and living conditions are expected to quickly rise barring outside forces.
• It is a member of the Third Imperium in the Oasis Subsector of Zarushagar Sector in the Domain of Ilelish.
• This is a temperate world, with a climate of pleasant, average temperatures, considered to be an ideal or near-ideal environment by many different sophont species.
• This is a "high technology" world with technology achievements at, near, or above the standard for Charted Space.
• This world contains an archaeological site with suspected high-tech remnants of the now-vanished Ancients precursor race.
• This world has an Imperial Scout base, capable of handling IISS starships and personnel.

Usyupkut is a Meso World between 12,000km and 13,500km in diameter. The world has a standard gravity between 0.8G and 1.1G. The horizon will appear about 5.1km away. Vessels with 1G of thrust should check with local starport authorities before attempting to land using emergency power.

Mainworld Atmosphere (A)

Usyupkut has a pressure of 1.50 to 2.49 atmospheres. A Dense Atmosphere requires no survival gear although it may be hard on sophonts not accustomed to it.

Usyupkut has 55-65% of its surface covered by liquid water. It has significant large liquid bodies. Wilderness refueling is possible.

History & Background (Dossier)

Usyupkut lies on the Rhamsteppe-Mongrebi Main, an important trade route. It is a member of the region known as The Access, the long spine of the Main.

It is a part of the Darmine Cultural Region, created within rimward Zarushagar Sector by order of Emperor Artemsus in the years immediately following the Ilelish Pacification Campaign.

The world is believed to contain an archaeological site, supposedly holding extremely advanced remnants of the now-vanished Ancients precursor race.

• The Droyne authorities actively discourage access to the region where the site is said to be located.

World Starport

Usyupkut has a Class A Starport, an excellent quality installation which includes all the expected amenities including refined fuel for starships, brokerage services for passengers and cargo, and a variety of ship provisions. There is a shipyard capable of doing annual maintenance, overhauls and other kinds of repair, and construction of both starships and non-starships. Most ports of this classification have both a Highport and a Downport.

World Population (P)

Usyupkut has a population of 700,000 sophonts (hundreds of thousands).

• This is a Nonindustrial World, too small to support the complete chain of production of most goods from start to finish.
• The entire population consists of Droyne.

Droyne organise themselves into oytripin, which consist of multiple tyafelmin and dreskayin, and can produce kroylosses.

• Oynprith, a ceremonial and ritualistic language apparently universal among Droyne communities.

Other languages are occasionally heard, including:

• Anglic, one of the two official languages of the Imperium.

These laws are simple enough that most people can act as their own advocate, though for serious issues a professional is recommended. Law enforcement officials will be present, but not in great numbers. Light assault weapons, and anything more destructive, are typically regulated or prohibited.

History: New Era

Many Droyne refugees fled here to escape persecution during the Rebellion. A hundred years on, Usyupkut was a stable world possessed of a modest trade fleet (some of which were moth-balled refugee ships). It developed strong ties to nearby Human-dominated worlds.
