History & Background (Dossier)

Hyrcanus is a member of (and the namesake of) the Hyrcanus Cluster, a small cluster and minor trade route principally lying within the rimward-trailing quadrant of Canopus Sector.

The Solomani Church is very active on Hyrcanus, with a large, well organized ministry and hundreds of millions of devout believers. Many colonization efforts sponsored and organized by the Church have recruited large numbers of settlers from the poorer regions of the world.

Solomani Security keeps a close eye on things to ensure the security of the Confederation and the well-being of its loyal citizens. Almost anyone could be a SolSec informant, passing on all sorts of useful information: some gain a reward or benefit for their actions, others are coerced, but many see it as an act of duty to help protect the Solomani state and its interests.

World Starport (St)

Hyrcanus has a Class A Starport, an excellent quality installation which includes all the expected amenities including refined fuel for starships, brokerage services for passengers and cargo, and a variety of ship provisions. There is a shipyard capable of doing annual maintenance, overhauls and other kinds of repair, and construction of both starships and non-starships. Most ports of this classification have both a Highport and a Downport.
