Parsi Subsector is in an interesting position, socially, being situated between the heart of the Vilani cultural sphere around Vland and the Lancian Cultural Region immediately to spinward, in Corridor. The native cultures of the latter -- Lancian, Graytch, S'mrii -- often have long-simmering resentment of brutal Vilani conquests and pacifications in past eras. Meanwhile, the systems in most of Parsi, including the homeworld of the native Human race, the Answerin, have been solidly Vilani-aligned since before the Ziru Sirka. Despite some mutual discomfort and quiet hostility, this subsector sees great exchange between two of the most vibrant regions of the Third Imperium.

Parsi Subsector is Subsector M of Vland Sector.

Description (Specifics)[edit]

Parsi Subsector is in an interesting position, socio-politically, being situated between the heart of the Vilani cultural sphere around Vland and the Lancian Cultural Region immediately to spinward, in Corridor.

Astrographic Features[edit]

The following astrographic features and trade routes can be found within this subsector:

Stellar Distribution[edit]

A basic map showing the distribution and size of stars within Parsi Subsector, right:

 • The color corresponds to the visible color of the star, which links to its spectral classification.
 • The size as shown indicates both the physical size of the object and its relative brightness.

Note that the stars as depicted are representative. Any star, no matter what its size, is a mere speck within the hex it occupies.

 • Ordinary main sequence stars can barely be seen from even a hex away.
 • Huge, intensely luminous giant stars can be seen from across the subsector and far beyond.

The Vilani Main[edit]

The great Vilani Main, the mighty trade artery of the Ziru Sirka, extends through the subsector. All but a handful of worlds in the core-spinward corner are members.

 • Worlds on the Main are highlighted in green.
 • Vland is marked in red.

Subsector Summary[edit]

Parsi, subsector M of Vland, contains 42 worlds with an estimated combined population of 147 billion, a per capita income of Cr7,935, and a total economy of BCr1,166,495. These worlds originate an interstellar trade of BCr4,464 through 36 starports (7 Class A, 11 Class B, 10 Class C, 8 Class D) employing 877,325 people. Driving this interstellar trade are four Agricultural (Ag) worlds, six Non-Agricultural (Na) worlds, three Pre-Agricultural (Pa) worlds, two Pre-Industrial (Pi) worlds, three Rich (Ri) worlds, and no Industrial (In) worlds. The governments in Parsi maintain 13 Scout bases, 11 Naval bases, and one Way station. The average technology level is 10 (with most between 7 and 13). The highest technology level is 15 at Nurrungar (Vland 0234), Parsi (Vland 0336), and Aquacade (Vland 0640).

Parsi, subsector M of Vland, contains 59 stars and 445 identified planets; 25 monostellar systems, 17 binary systems, no trinary systems, and no systems with four or more stars. 23 of the 42 systems (54%) have native gas giants. There are two Asteroid (As) belts, six Desert (De) worlds, one Garden (Ga) world, two Ice-capped (Ic) worlds, six Poor (Po) worlds, seven Vacuum (Va) worlds, and six Water (Wa) or Ocean (Oc) worlds.

Parsi has an estimated population of 147 billion distributed across four High population (Hi) worlds, two Moderate population (Ph) worlds, 18 Non-industrial (Ni) worlds, 12 Low population (Lo) worlds, and no Barren (Ba) worlds. The highest population worlds are Kirov (Vland 0740), Answerin (Vland 0431), and Parsi (Vland 0336). The population consists primarily of 2 sophont groups including one native sophont.

Third Imperium, Domain of Vland[edit]

The Third Imperium, Domain of Vland has jurisdiction over all of the worlds with an estimated combined population of 147 billion, a per capita income of Cr7,935, and a total economy of BCr1,166,495. The governments in the Third Imperium, Domain of Vland maintain 13 Scout bases, 11 Naval bases, and one Way station within the subsector. The average technology level is 10 (with most between 7 and 13). The highest technology level is 15 at Nurrungar (Vland 0234), Parsi (Vland 0336), and Aquacade (Vland 0640).

The Third Imperium, Domain of Vland has an estimated population of 147 billion within the subsector, distributed across four High population (Hi) worlds, two Moderate population (Ph) worlds, 18 Non-industrial (Ni) worlds, 12 Low population (Lo) worlds, and no Barren (Ba) worlds. The highest population worlds are Kirov (Vland 0740), Answerin (Vland 0431), and Parsi (Vland 0336). The population consists primarily of 2 sophont groups including one native sophont.

World Listings[edit]

Comprehensive Second Survey UWP data for all worlds lying within the subsector is available.

 • The primary source material for all data is Traveller Map.
 • Other sources may contain contradictory or incorrect information.
