Gvadhoe Subsector is Subsector N of Windhorn Sector.
- It lies within Charted Space.
- It is part of the Vargr Extents.
Description / Specifications
Gvadhoe Subsector is a region that has seen millennia of settlement by both humans and Vargr. During the Ziru Sirka the region had billions of human inhabitants and its worlds were generally more technologically advanced.
- The resources of the subsector are being exploited.
- Many worlds have Ziru Sirka-era ruins and remains on their surfaces.
Astrographic Features & Trade Routes
The following astrographic and commercial data has been determined regarding Gvadhoe Subsector:
- The subsector is an average stellar density region.
- The brightest star is the white subgiant primary of the Dhoriz system.
- The subsector lies on the edge of the Windhorn Rift.
- The Kanae-Figorurzaz Trade Run, an important trade route, crosses the region.
Stellar Distribution
A basic map showing the distribution and size of stars within Gvadhoe Subsector.
- The color corresponds to the visible color of the star, which links to its spectral classification.
- The size as shown indicates both the physical size of the object and its relative brightness.
(Chart sourced from Traveller Map).
Note that the stars as depicted are representative. Any star, no matter what its size, is a mere speck within the hex it occupies.
- Ordinary main sequence stars can barely be seen from even a hex away.
- Huge, intensely luminous giant stars can be seen from across the subsector and far beyond.
Rifts and Voids
The subsector lies on the rimward edge of the Windhorn Rift.
- The rift hinders travel and commerce within the region.
- It has placed a boundary on settlement and expansion within the area.

The nature and limits of the rift may be determined by different criteria in different regions.
- Generally, its boundaries are based on jump performance.
- Areas may traditionally be considered rift regions, even though all of their worlds are accessible to ships equipped with high performance drives.
The Kanae-Figorurzaz Trade Run
The central worlds of the subsector lie on a small Main called the Kanae-Figorurzaz Trade Run. The Main has 28 member worlds.
- It runs between Aekhgal Subsector, Gvadhoe Subsector, and Voenggaks Subsector.
- It lies entirely within the Ngath Confederation, a Vargr polity.
- Worlds lying on the Main are highlighted in tan.
- Kanae is marked in red.
- Figorurzaz is marked in orange.
The Vedhaaez Cluster
The spinward-rimward worlds of the subsector are members of the Vedhaaez Cluster, a trade route running between Corridor Sector, Vland Sector, and Windhorn Sector. It is a small Main.
- It has 39 member systems.
(Chart sourced from Traveller Map)
- Worlds lying on the Main are highlighted in tan.
- Vedhaaez, the namesake of the cluster and the capital of the Confederation, is marked in red.
The Vilani Main
The subsector marks the coreward end of the Vilani Main, the mighty trade artery of the Ziru Sirka.
- High cargo capacity, low jump rating vessels moving along the Main, carrying vast amounts of goods and commodities between its member worlds.

World Listing
AAB library archives contain expanded data about the following systems:
- The primary source material for all data is Traveller Map.
- Other sources may contain contradictory or incorrect information.
Note that some Second Survey data, though only 40 years old, is likely to be out of date.
- Data is occasionally updated as new information becomes available.
- Scouting missions gathering reliable, verified data can receive substantial payment.
- Verified updated data is constantly sought.
Subsector Summary
Gvadhoe, subsector N of Windhorn, contains 33 worlds with an estimated combined population of 9 billion, a per capita income of Cr1,294, and a total economy of BCr12,279. These worlds originate an interstellar trade of BCr102 through 25 starports (7 Class A, 4 Class B, 11 Class C, 3 Class D) employing 11,645 people. Driving this interstellar trade are six Agricultural (Ag) worlds, six Non-Agricultural (Na) worlds, three Pre-Agricultural (Pa) worlds, three Pre-Industrial (Pi) worlds, one Rich (Ri) world, and no Industrial (In) worlds. The governments in Gvadhoe maintain 11 Corsair bases and seven Naval bases. The average technology level is 7 (with most between 4 and 9). The highest technology level is 14 at Akezaenae (Windhorn 1435).
Gvadhoe, subsector N of Windhorn, contains 52 stars and 388 identified planets; 16 monostellar systems, 15 binary systems, two trinary systems, and no systems with four or more stars. 31 of the 33 systems (93%) have native gas giants. There are one Asteroid (As) belt, two Desert (De) worlds, three Garden (Ga) worlds, three Ice-capped (Ic) worlds, four Poor (Po) worlds, four Vacuum (Va) worlds, and one Water (Wa) or Ocean (Oc) world.
Gvadhoe has an estimated population of 9 billion distributed across one High population (Hi) world, two Moderate population (Ph) worlds, 20 Non-industrial (Ni) worlds, six Low population (Lo) worlds, and no Barren (Ba) worlds. The highest population world is Gvokfizoeks (Windhorn 1638). The population consists primarily of 1 sophont group.

Ngath Confederation
The Ngath Confederation has jurisdiction over all of the worlds with an estimated combined population of 9 billion, a per capita income of Cr1,294, and a total economy of BCr12,279. The governments in the Ngath Confederation maintain 11 Corsair bases and seven Naval bases within the subsector. The average technology level is 7 (with most between 4 and 9). The highest technology level is 14 at Akezaenae (Windhorn 1435).
The Ngath Confederation has an estimated population of 9 billion within the subsector, distributed across one High population (Hi) world, two Moderate population (Ph) worlds, 20 Non-industrial (Ni) worlds, six Low population (Lo) worlds, and no Barren (Ba) worlds. The highest population world is Gvokfizoeks (Windhorn 1638). The population consists primarily of 1 sophont group.
History & Background (Dossier)
Gvadhoe Subsector originally formed the coreward border of the Ziru Sirka and saw settlement during the era, being under the dominion of the Naasirka bureaux. It was overrun by the Vargr during the Long Night and continues to be a Vargr-dominated region into the present day.
Polity Listing
The following polities lie within the subsector:
Native Sophonts (NILs)
No races (sophont species) are believed to have originated in this area.
Demographics
Significant populations of the following races (sophont species) reside within this area:
- Terragens (Non-human Terran races)
Subsector Timeline
Major events that have affected this subsector and the wider region that it lies within:
- -4045 to -2204: the Ziru Sirka claims and settles worlds across the region.
- -3810: the Vargr discover jump technology and begin an era of expansion.
- -2404 to -2215: the human Interstellar Wars rage to rimward. The region becomes increasingly neglected.
- -2400s: Vargr raiding into the region significantly increases. This becomes known as the Vargr Pillaging.
- -2204 to -1776: the Rule of Man nominally administers the worlds of the region. Conflicts escalate between Vargr and humans as the Vargr occupy former Ziru Sirka territory.
- circa -1700: Vargr rimward expansion gradually ceases: the border between human and Vargr space stabilizes.
- -1776 to 0: the Long Night. There is widespread regression within the area and some worlds become barren.
- The Year 0: to rimward, the Third Imperium is founded.
- 300-420: the Imperial First Survey charts the subsector.
- 995-1065: the Imperial Second Survey charts the subsector.
- 1065: the Second Survey is published. Information about the subsector becomes widely available.
