Vreibefger is a nonindustrial, pre-rich world still lacking adequate population to expand its economy to a rich status.
- As a nonindustrial world, it requires extensive imports of outside technology to maintain a modern, star-faring society. The need to import most manufactured and high technology goods drives the price of these goods up in the open market.
- It is a member of the Third Imperium in the Lanth Subsector of Spinward Marches Sector in the Domain of Deneb.
- This is a "low technology" world with technology competencies well below standard for Charted Space.
- This world has a research station engaged in the scientific pursuit of knowledge.
- Vreibefger is a member of the Spinward Main.
Description (Astrography & Planetology)[edit]
Stellar Data[edit]
Vreibefger has a solitary primary star.
- It is an orange main sequence.
System Data[edit]
The worlds of the system have been surveyed. They consist of:
- The mainworld.
- x6 secondary rocky worlds.
- x1 gas giant.
Mainworld Data[edit]
Vreibefger has a frozen climate and a dense oxygen-nitrogen atmosphere.
It orbits towards the outer edge of its star's habitable zone.
- It receives relatively low levels of stellar energy.
Mainworld Size (S)[edit]
Vreibefger is a Meso World between 7,200km and 8,800km in diameter. The world has a standard gravity between 0.4G and 0.57G. The horizon will appear about 4km away.
Mainworld Atmosphere (A)[edit]
Vreibefger has a pressure of 1.50 to 2.49 atmospheres. A Dense Atmosphere requires no survival gear although it may be hard on sophonts not accustomed to it.
- It experiences low temperatures.
Mainworld Hydrosphere (H)[edit]
Vreibefger has 05-15% of its surface covered by liquid water or ice. Wilderness refueling will be difficult. Water for the inhabitants needs to be imported and extensively recycled. These worlds are Hell Worlds or Poor Worlds depending on their atmosphere.
Mainworld Geography and Topography[edit]
No centrally held map of the world exists within AAB Library Data records.
(Blank map, predominantly dry world.)
Native Lifeforms[edit]
The most well-known native species is the icebear, a ferocious-looking shaggy quadruped that weighs 135 kg and is occasionally hunted for its fur. The icebears are herbivorous and generally harmless, but when angered can be quite dangerous.
History & Background (Dossier)[edit]
Research Station Epsilon is located at a remote site on-planet, in the crater of an extinct volcano in the Molars, a peculiarly squared-off mountain range.
An associated research station is located in geosynchronous orbit over the site.
- It is a small orbital facility.
- Access is not permitted.

Elements of the Imperial 18th Fleet patrol the system.
In 874, the Imperium purchased the assets of the Octagon Society on Vreibefger and converted the grounds of the local shelter to an annex of the Research Station. By 1105 this station is engaged in stock breeding experiments as part of a long range project to improve several of the meat-producing animals of the Imperium. The octagon remains as a small part of the grounds and is used for storage.
World Starport (St)[edit]
Vreibefger has a Class E Starport, a frontier quality installation with few expected amenities. There is unrefined fuel for starships and a limited variety of ship provisions. There is no shipyard of any kind, but there may be parts and technical support for doing minor services and repair. Ports of this classification generally consist of a downport.
World Population (P)[edit]
Vreibefger has a population of 900,000 sophonts (hundreds of thousands).
- This is a Nonindustrial World, too small to support the complete chain of production of most goods from start to finish.
Linguistic Topography[edit]
The most commonly heard languages are:
- Anglic, one of the two official languages of the Imperium.
- Vilani, one of the two official languages of the Imperium.
World Technology Level (T)[edit]
